A three-year-old boy in China encouraged a girl who had to shave her head before chemotherapy. Nuoyi was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in October 2021 and has been undergoing treatment in hospital since. Although he also cried when he had his hair shaved off three months ago, he has become more mature and even comforts others now.

Don’t worry, I looked it up and apparently, if treated early (like this fella here) there’s an 85%-90% survival rate- and the rate average has been slowly increasing in recent years.

Please do not forget the carer, especially the mother...her pain and stress could be 10X that of the boy...I pray that she will be protected and for the husband if you read this please give her all you support and all your love. Remember, no one is at fault for such an agony...it was decided that way and your humbleness in accepting it will bring you peace and comfort.

Here we have a children's cancer hospital. Too many get cancer these days. I don't know why. I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Live your life not thinking the worst. Just go about your life as you usually would. If you think the end is near, you will die even sooner through stress & fear. Spend your time doing what you enjoy. I wish you a long life.

Mask, he's not resisting the urge to eat. Cancer treatment makes food tasteless, or worse, food tastes terrible. You want to eat, but don't feel hungry. You can't stomach food. He said he hopes to eat all the food one day. The throat also gets tighter. Swallowing a pill could be painful too. It becomes painful to swallow even a sip of water. He looks wistfully as he's holding food, but knows he can't eat it yet. Once the treatments are over, it will take months to get the tastebuds back, but perhaps not 100% as before.

@@madkmadk6809 Yes I have it. After 2 sessions of chemo & 35 sessions of radiotherapy, I couldn't eat at all. All I had were memories of what the food items are supposed to taste like, but after that everything tasted AWFUL. The taste, some has come back & some like ice cream & cakes, I still can't taste them. The problem for weeks after the treatment was also extremely painful mouth ulcers on my tongue, under the tongue & down my throat. I had to take Hydromorphine syrup to numb things and another thick and revolting pink syrup that made me throw up, all in aid of healing the ulcers, but unfortunately took time. Also I dropped many kgs in weight after that. It was a really scary and painful outcome of my treatment.

He CANT eat. It's not that he's resisting any urge. Cancer treatments take away your appetite & kills off all your taste buds. It takes a few months after the final treatment to restore some of your appetite & taste buds, though not 100% but maybe 70%. I know. I'm there myself.

And adults too! Cancer robs ppl of so much. This boy has every chance of recovery. These days it's all cancer, diabetes, & heart attacks when ppl are here 1 minute & gone the next. Today bcz of stress, so many have mental problems. Drugs, alcohol, and others bcz of financial stress trying to make ends meet, have big debts, failing to pay on monthly mortgage repayments to the banks, losing their jobs & homes. Divorce, you name it. I think these are terrible times we are living in. Now there's climate change too. It feels like the end of the world.
