Im currently replaying this game on my PSX. Musashi was my childhood hero as a kid. I learned all the cheeky insults from him. This game was ahead of its time. This little lad is still my favorite fictional character to this day.

It was probably the first JRPG that utilizes full voice-over in its dialogues. I was pretty hesitant to play it back in PS1 day, because other RPG seems more captivating such as Star Ocean, Chrono Cross, FF7... But in the end, I feel like Musashi topped em all in term of gameplay mechanic, it has progressive HQ development, dynamic town activities, even Toy Figures, and Vambies (scared my 8yo's ass the first time). Too bad people like edgier characters in video game, that's what make this game fell off the mainstream radar.

I'm pretty surprised there hasn't been an orchestra that has arranged and performed this yet. There are a number of songs on this soundtrack that would translate really well into live performances.

dynamicsketch nice detail about that times theology and clever way to tie it with gaming at the same time. Gonna give this game a go for sure. The 90s man, the passion and extra attention to detail of that period no longer exists unfortunately. What a unique period for art.

This was quite possibly one of the best games on the PSX, in my opinion. Comfortable learning curve, epic boss battles, cool power-ups gained from enemies, great voice acting, cool story, EPIC music... This game had it all. I can do without top of the line graphics from today's games, as long as they are as much as a blast to play as this was.

It's not the same track (I don't know if someone else already said this), although it's the same piece, the first time it appears on the soundtrack, it is the looped version, and this, being the last track on the set, I would call the official orchestral version, coming to a proper end, and having different sections than the looped version had.

I fell in love with this game a long time ago, and I think it's good as it is. It doesn't need a remake. Besides, I bet the remake would be worse than the original, much like how that Musashi: Samurai Legend game turned out.

That's interesting. I guess we have different values since I wouldn't buy a remake if Square Enix did release one =p It would just be an attempt to milk money from the fans without producing anything new for the gaming community. I'd rather experience a brand new adventure than re-live an old story in HD (one that I already know the twists and ending to no less).
