they're highly trained military pilot trained to kill people if need be, they're NOT teenage girls fragile little precious snowflakes so they can manage all right... they're not too talkative because they just lost a 30 million dollar aircraft and if it's their fault then it could probably be the end of their military flying career...

Read the full accident report. One was on a med not known by the flt surgeon and off limits to flight crews due to its negative effects on perf. One shut off a fuel valve unknown to the other who couldn't restart. Their pre ejection procedure was sloppy. The vcr tape containing flight info was "lost" and the above vid was KEY as they discussed who had it. They eject well below minimums and wasted valuable time. The eng was never one fire and probably would have restarted if the f valve was ON. Not judging but its iirc 90+ pages long so read it and you decide.

+JIMJAMSC you need a grammar lesson, bub.... none of that makes any sense. If you are a pilot and if your brain power represents your ability to construct sentences than I shall pray for you and any sorry sack that might be on board.

You must have read the wrong report... A turbine fan broke off due to fatigue and set the engine on fire. No pilot error at all. www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/assets/AIRFORCE_Internet/docs/en/flight-safety/ct155201-fsir-10jun11-2.pdf

For those of you who ask why one of the pilots is danish and the other canadian, is that NATO does military co-op exercises, training and sharing knowledge on tactics and technology, Canada has F/A-18 fighters while Denmark uses F-16A and B models, they do training on other aircraft for evaluation and observation purposes.

@AV4Life4 жыл бұрын
This was in Canada; the investigation by authorities said it was an engine failure; I am not sure where specifically you got Mach 1.8 from, but I don’t think they did-Because, #1 planes aren’t allowed to fly supersonic over congested areas, also if they did eject at supersonic they would’ve been more injured because the relative wind pushing against their body’s at that speed would likely injure them severely.

+Daan Kolsteeg flight saftey investigation report front the canadian department of national defence A crew of two qualified instructor pilots were conducting an instructor upgrade sortie, including a wingman syllabus mission, in a British Aerospace Systems Hawk aircraft when they heard a loud bang and noticed an increasing turbine gas temperature. They then discontinued their training, analysed the aircraft systems, and turned the aircraft towards the Cold Lake airport. The pilots set a medium engine power setting and commenced a shallow climb above 12,000’, above mean sea level. After receiving their wingman’s report of smoke emanating from their aircraft and after noticing an increase in engine vibrations, the pilots shut down the engine. Shortly thereafter, after determining that insufficient altitude remained to glide to the Cold Lake airport, they attempted to restart the engine. During the restart, the wingman reported flames coming from the lead aircraft, after which the pilots then discontinued the restart and resumed their glide. Unable to reach a runway, they carried out a controlled low level ejection. The pilots parachuted in to a shallow swamp, receiving minor injuries, while the aircraft crashed and was destroyed. The investigation concluded that the Hawk CT155 Adour Engine low pressure turbine (LPT) blade, which had a history of fatigue cracking at the trailing edge rear acute corner, failed prior to reaching its design life.

Sure they do, they're conducting a Military investigation, They were Jets attached to the base, hence the military will control of the investigation, NOT the FAA... Take a few minutes to read U.S.C. If these were strictly civilian a/c with no relation what-so-ever to the base, then you would be correct. Most large military bases have concurrent jurisdiction, where they share jurisdiction, but in this case, it would come under sole military jurisdiction.

jaxbeach09 I flew helicopters in the Marine Corps and my brother is a firefighter at McCarran Intl airport in Vegas so I might be able to help you...go to a bookstore and look up 'Brave', then look at what happens when a plane crashes in a residential neighborhood, finally ask an airline pilot about how much control you have over an aircraft that you just ejected from; finally put all of that together and you will find that great pilots can pretty much safely land an aircraft that hasn't exploded...a brave pilot doesn't jump out and create and uncontrollable missile.......
