“Brave” has always held a special place in my heart for quite many reasons. One of these is that I absolutely love its soundtrack, with these two songs. Their features differ quite a lot from each other, so it can be difficult for the same singer to perfectly nail both of them. For this reason, I believe that being able to do a good job in at least one of them makes your work automatically good.
As you may (or may not) know, an important number of dubbings decided to leave these two songs in English, and thus a version in these languages doesn’t exist. These versions are: Albanian, Arabic, Cantonese, Croatian, Estonian, Filipino, German, Icelandic, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mandarin (Taiwan), Romanian, Serbian, and Slovak.
Additionally, despite the setting of the movie, Disney never released a Scottish Gaelic dubbing for Brave, and I WILL take this as a personal offence.

Knowing your feelings towards Saara, I was 100% expecting to see her last, and was kinda disappointed when I was wrong XD but hey, at least I wasn’t too far off with my guess! Woohoo, another great ranking from you! I am such a big fan of this movie, I think it's my fave one from Pixar. It has something pure and clean as a message and the fact that it is set in the medieval period is just perfect for my taste! I always feel bad for Saara Aalto, dubbing isn't her thing actually. As you said, she can overreact a lot, but gosh...her ESC entry was magnificent! Glad to see some appreciation for Deniz Suzana, I like her a lot. We agree so much with your Top 10, except Italian. I find her quite unsympathetic and she's also way far from what I have in my mind for Merida as a character. Thanks for Penny's place and your continuously great words for our dubbings! Marilou is...mesmerizing. I could totally copy your comment on her, I agree with everything you said, especially with her connection to Merida! (and of course she is my number one too!) I found these takes very interesting! (And contrarily to many of your other rankings, I found myself disagreeing more often than I'd expect to - but it's so enlightening to see your thoughts that explain your ranking!) I especially noticed your comment on Hanna and, while I do understand why you think she might be a bit overinvested, I thought it was perfect to show Merida's energy and strong will and determination. But I completely understand why you ranked it that way!

Ohh Brave :D I'm not a big fan of this movie but in fact I really like the soundtrack because I think is really cool. I disagree with Signe just because I'm addicted to her version so much. I agree with Thai, Catalan, Dutch and Latin Spanish. I like your 1# place a lot and better than before. The edition is wonderful as always :)

Sempre lieto di vedere i tuoi ranking, i tuoi commenti sono sempre un piacere da leggere ^_^ Prima di tutto GRAZIE per aver specificato "Brave Soloist", perché molte persone considerano queste cantanti come la voce cantante di Merida quando non è così! Voglio dire, cosa sarebbe costato alla Pixar castare una singola attrice per entrambe le parti? Se non l'hanno fatto ci sarà un motivo dietro... Ad ogni modo, la pensiamo in maniera davvero simile per quanto riguarda i primi e gli ultimi posti, pazzesco! Ero curioso di sentire il tuo parere su Noemi, visto che è una sorta di "talent" che avrebbe potuto fallire facilmente, ma vedo che la pensiamo in modo simile, anche se magari non la apprezzo fino alla top 10. Scusa il commentone, ma come per te queste canzoni e questo film mi sono molto care. Insomma, ottimo lavoro, come sempre ;-)

Ahaha mi fa piacere leggere i tuoi immancabili commenti, quindi non ti angustiare per la lunghezza x) Per quanto trovi che Noemi abbia fatto un lavoro di tutto rispetto, nemmeno io mi aspettavo di vederla in top 10, ma mi sono resa conto che tutto questo video ha dei numeri un po' strani: essendoci almeno 10 lingue in meno del solito (ma anche 20 in meno del normale), i numeri sono un po' sfasati da come siamo abituati a vederli, quindi nella top 10 sono entrate 2-3 versioni che non mi sarei aspettata di trovarci, ecco.

It took me nearly 10 whole years on KZbin before I made my first one, and since then, it's not been my go-to video. I'm not saying I won't be making any in the future, but I sure can't say _when_ I'm gonna make one, nor about which character

It's not really the editing that takes up a lot of time, but rather the ranking itself: I want to be as fair as I can to every single dubber on the list, and giving an honest but accurate opinion on their job requires a lot of listening to their rendition and analysis. Which takes up a lot of time and energy. This ranking of Brave mounts on literally *10 years* of listening and re-listening to all these versions of the songs. On the other hand, I can tell you I prefer Marsha to Mafarikha, but that's the extent of my opinion on her, because I haven't listened to Mafarikha even remotely enough to have a solid opinion on her whole rendition

Wow, Persian's version is just not even the same song anymore. I think it's the first time I see the original version rank so low? also I don't know why the idea that Canadian's singer also did the VOICE of Merida is so strange to think about. It's surprising that THIS is a performance that has so many singers go too sugary with it, considering it's the inner thoughts of the most tomboyish Disney princess in the line-up. And poor Maeva, she was a good fit for Rapunzel but Merida.... not so much.
