I also got hit by a car once and got away with merely a broken foot, and acted like it was all routine. My mom was all panicked, I just had a certain acceptance of "whatever happens, happens, the docs know what they're doing and I trust they'll do their best for me." (I understand my mom was panicked. I'd be panicked too if it happened to someone I loved, but for some reason, I'm chill when shit like that happens to me)

Yes, I have. I was a teacher, elementary school, a private school in Hayward, California. There was a girl in my class whose father had a restraining order. He showed up with a HUGE knife, and demanded, while sweating and yelling, his daughter. I stood in the doorway and said: "I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling, but you have to understand that I am her teacher, that I have to protect all these children, and I cannot let you in here, even if it means I risk my life because I care about these kids, and your daughter." He struggled for a minute, shifted back and forth, then nodded and ran away. I despise it when people water down the word "hero" to apply it to teachers and others who do not risk their lives or property for others. But that day, I was a hero. And a fool.

I took my family to a waterfall in the spring one year. The runoff from snowmelt was deep enough we had to take a tricky high route. We also couldn't get into the immediate area of the waterfall because of the high water. And we discovered that going back the way we came wasn't going to work. I knew I had put my kids in danger, and it was up to me to get them out. We ended out being stuck on the wrong side of the river. I told them to stay put in a safe place while I scouted ahead. Managed to find the best place to cross, and the older ones made it. Took some doing to get the youngest across. It took a lot of courage on my part to get my kids to safety, but really stupid to get them in danger in the first place.

People talk about animal control in Florida all the time. Sadly, after living there for 21 years (born and raised), I know for a fact animal control is nearly useless. As for the story with the coyote... After moving to Arizona, I had a coyote that would come around and hang out near my house. Wouldn't claim he was domesticated, but he was pretty chill. Further, there are cases of people actually domesticating them, so it's not entirely unbelievable that the one picked up didn't attack the woman.

I've had many brave idiotic incidents. When I was younger than my 13 year old self, I would handle adult red headed agamas. I mostly got females, but I loved them all, and since I hadn't gotten a dog, but wanted a pet, I would believe that I could keep them (They would mostly end up dying sadly). It was brave but became idiotic when I caught one and it bit me. It hurt, but not as much as you would expect from an adolescent of this species. My personal favourite experience with them was when I hatched a clutch of five eggs and took care of them for about 2 days. Luckily, I got to release all of the five, because one of their tails had come off and I wanted to raise them all together. Now don't come at me for animal cruelty, because I was about 10. OK? But in reality, the dumbest one happened fairly. I found a spider in my kitchen, couldn't identify it, but kept it as a pet anyway, despite the risk of it being somewhat lethal. Prior to that, I had only kept jumping spiders and wolf spiders.
@marcellepesek30382 жыл бұрын
RandomKinkajou, I think you're wiser than your years. We all can make mistakes, especially when young. You did a kind deed for the chicks, and even the spider. Be careful not to get bitten, please. While on the bridge, we saw a little dog running panicked back and forth through traffic. So, I asked mom to pull over to the shoulder, and she did. I'm pretty sure she thought I was going to try to call the dog over to us. But nope, stupid me RAN OUT INTO TRAFFIC, scooped up the dog, and ran back to the car. I don't remember mom's reaction, but I assume she was just shocked into silence and recovering from the heart attack I gave her. Anyways, we were unable to find out where the dog came from so we kept her. She was an awesome dog. Btw, it took me WAY TOO LONG to realize that I could've died doing that.

Wait, you’re telling me you can harass alligators if you have permission by law?
@marcellepesek30382 жыл бұрын
Dhir Vyas, the guy also hit the alligator on the snout with the top of the garbage can, so could have injured him. They are strong animals, yet highly susceptible to stress, believe it or not. At least he did let him loose in the nearby pond afterwards.

@@dhirvyas2031 I realize that you were joking, thanks for pointing it out. But I don't think the bloke slapping the alligator was kidding. He might lose a hand one of these days. Nobody likes to get beaten up for no good reason.

12:28 is one of the funniest things I've ever seen! It's like a refreshment cart rodeo!! 😆🤣🤣🤣 Also, Mr. "I've done this 30x" needs to direct his attention to the man who climbed sky scrapers and rode hoverboards to the edges of them, did pull-ups without safety equipment and the like who fell to his death in a live stream doing something he'd "done many times before". 🙄🤦🏻♀️ Dude is just itching for a Darwin award!! (the guy from the video; not the already dead guy, obviously)

You could nominate the already dead guy for an award.

My biggest fear for 15:36 would be waking up covered in bird shit after a fly over by a flock of ducks or something. I'd just roll outvof bed after that.

Honestly saving tons of gas canisters from possibly being strong enough to explode the building was a very good idea to stop the explosion, am I right?

Back in the 50's a fire broke out at an oil well. The company had their fire control there but it was too hot to gel close enough to do any good. Along came the local fire department in their old fire truck and it went, brakes squeaking away, rolled past the crew up to the perfect spot to fight the fire, jumped off, used the hose to spray each other off and proceeded to put the fire out. The well owners gave the fire department a good reward for their work and the fire chief was asked what they would do with the money. "Well, the first thing is get those brakes on the fire engine fixed."

6:16, This actually would have worked if they went with a Gentler Angle to Climb and a JUMP off the other side. Like a 30 degree rather then a 45 which is tough for most SUV's to climb.

I’m known as “The (non-venomous) Snake Whisperer” in my neighborhood. I have reptiles as pets, as do many other folks, and don’t see what’s insane about rescuing snakes and taking them to safe places to live.

I studied abroad in Spain with about 12 other classmates. Me and two others were taking the subway back to hour hotel. When one of the people dropped their air pods right when the train was arriving. It pops out of her ear and bounces onto the tracks below right when it was pulling up. She tried to dive for it and luckily an older women stopped her. She was freaking out and we waited for the train to pass to see what happen. Amazingly it was just fine. She wanted to jump onto the tracks and have us pull her up. Mind you she was like 90 pounds soaking wet. I quickly said no this is a bad idea we were in a foreign country, and didn’t know the laws regarding the subways. I went and found someone and they told us to come back at midnight because they could stop the trains without any delays.
