Do you mind telling how much does it cost to obtain Russian MRE in USA? In Russia our MRE costs around 450-700 Rubles (5-8 USD) Amerian MRE costs 4.5k - 6.5k rubles (50-70 USD) Our MRE used to cost way less before because there was a surplus in stocks. I remember buying them for 280-330 rubles. They are still cheap though. I usually spend around 500 rubles for a big meal per visit to McDonalds.

Tushonka is the stew meat dishes. The potted meat is Pashtet. MRE’s from that part of the world are all excellent. Way better food standards than the U.S.

@@Bravebelly not everytime. Sometimes winter gives you rain instead of snow, so i think the best time to visit Russia is summer. You can spent tons of time with walking in the night cities, also in Russia you can get some friends and go to outdoor at any time, or even check Russian style of camping. no coffee 😞 lol in Iraq most guys didn't drink the coffee packet from the MRE because we didn't have a good way to heat it.. and we weren't feelin cold instant coffee. what we did was a couple of us had cheap plug-in coffee pots back at our tents on base.. when we had time; like cleaning weapons etc, we'd brew some fresh hot coffee.

Sad, that one of the meals was lost, but it's good that it was the most big thing spoiled. One thing to note for drinks - I noticed how big this glass is. I believe it may be at least twice as big as russian soldier tin teacup that is issued. Of course drink is hard to dissolve, but also might be a bit watered. Just an observation. Regarding the knives - Russian soldiers have issued bayonet knife for AK assault rifle. I had experience only with older ones for AK-74 and AKM that was combining with sheath to be used as wire cutters. Newer one has sheath with standalone cutter option. Sure sugar -usually sugar in these packs is considered less sweet than the one we go and buy at stores. At least it was applied to all those sugar packs that you tear and put in cup. That's why it was made bigger. Speaking about cell phones - my friend was a tank operator, so they just switch phones to air mode but may have them nearby to make footages. Saw some stuff a year ago like this. Then at certain areas they are allowed to use them carefully

on the healthy/unhealthy U.S. MRE conversation.. it's a shame that they changed the U.S. MREs from the old days. the 1980s and early 1990s the U.S. MREs were great. they were simple, the ingredients list was literally Potatoes, Beef, Carrots, Onions, Salt.. real simple, like how you'd make it at home.. when i was a boy my dad would buy me some 1980s MREs.. they were really good, and they also had a freeze dried fruit square, the best MRE snack item ever.

@@Bravebelly sweet creamy condensed milk , I have that regularly in my fridge . It’s fine to add in coffee instead of milk or eat with bread or cracker. I think that’s a main delicacy in Russian army , mostly on obligatory service. I think it easy to find сгущёнка in any Russian store in NY (as I remember you are from NY) but best that you can find made in Rogachev , Belarus. With a little red line in front , it should be possible to get as well! Thank you for you video , that was funny to see how you enjoyed 😅 That pretty not a best from Russian food , even for army and etc. You need to try тушёнка , сайра, шпроты and плов! 🤝

Yes but I’m starting to thing that there’s a whole reason and methodology for it. Why sit and cook food..we don’t fight in trench warfare. We do small missions and get back to base where we have field kitchens. Same w training..just eat light and quick, no one has time to be heating up these big meals. If you notice, the food in general is small portions and very “on the go”. All the guys in the US military that have served told me they never even heat up the food. No time. Also, the burning of fires gives away heat signatures and two, we’re not in a trench for months. All that coocking is like serious position holding for extended periods of time. I think we aren’t into that methodology anymore. We use technology in those situations. Guys do missions and head back to base where they eat real food.
