Haha, yup, this is the fight I was referring to. I never thought to mess with Absorb Magic/Spirit Barrier in my solo, so I had to figure out exactly how the fight's AI worked. It turns out if you apply fire resistance, Qada will drop everything to apply fire bane to you. For me, the entire fight came down to a very exact series of Re-raises and fire resistance buffs with no margin for error. It's hilarious to see how much easier (Relatively, anyway) this fight would have been had I used my brains and the tools available to me, haha!

This fight is annoying for sure with the Reflect and Fire Bane nonsense giving me no end of trouble. That said while a solo attempt like this can work a way I found to work faster is to use a fast Dark Knight & 4x Brave Dark Nebula, use a Spiritmaster's Stillness to buy time to heal up DK, Use a Performer's One More & Love Power and a Ninja/Freelancer's Mimic on both One More & Dark Nebula. Doing that and the enemy group should be dead in 2-3 turns. Another I found to work (at least on easy) is have all 4 as Ninja/Valkyrie & Speed +10%, one with 2 spears w/ Hermes' Shoes, Hasten World & Spear Lore & the rest unequipped w/ Natural Talent & Knuckle Lore, then all 4 High Jump Yulyana till he falls, then Super Jump the rest.

The description is slightly incorrect. Absorb magic is an independent status, fire bane will not nullify its effect. However it won't have any effect on reflected magic so you're screwed there.

Ah, you're right. Good catch. They seemed to thwart any form of immunity short of stacking MDEF in any event. That Reflect tactic is savage. I don't think Dispel would work with how quickly the employ reflected magic. Same with curing Fire Bane.

Yeah, this is easily one of the most cruel boss fights in the entire game. If you weren't doing a solo you could attempt group cast all on a character with white mage primary or subbed with all of the speed raising equipment (Falcon knives, hermes accessories etc). But that just means Qada will be able to hit hard with dark breath just from his own teammates. Of course a strategy such as this would require hasten world, and on turns of recasting fire bane and reflect Qada and Yulyana don't brave under any circumstance.
