This game's bosses were much darker in theme than the previous installment. From a witch who failed countless times to resurrect those she cared about (turning them into twisted monsters in the process) to a man (driven mad by grief) and son locked in an endless cycle of living death. And the battle themes reflect this.

honestly depends considering certain characters(political and corperate corruption, warcrimes, literally anything that has to do with victoria, whatever kind of character artemia is supposed to be,etc.). this series has some of the darkest themes I have seen in this decade despite some character being more on the stereotypical side

same. it is just tragic to see geist not wanting to go along with the plan because he just hated the corruption in the world, but because he genuinly believes he did all the wrong things when in reality, he really only did as much as he could...which in the end was not much without the knowledge he probably only gained later.

If you get rid of rev first geist will start using a skill called mercy killing which has a chance to ohko party members.

+omegaevolution It may have to do with difficulty. I don't remember if I was on Normal or forgot to turn back from easy when I was grinding :P Either way, It would be interesting if Rev's AI got changed to not possess on hard. Actually, it could depend on how long it takes to kill him. He only possessed a while after I took out Geist (No idea how long after :P).

+omegaevolution Literally just tested it out, it seems Rev may start possessing after he loses 50+% HP, Geist goes down, or both. I would test to see if he possesses with Geist still alive, but screw dealing with Undo HP :P

+omegaevolution he does certainly start possesing after he gets to about 50% HP. Didn't realize he did and has a Benediction Mist up at the time so by that point just reset and changed Yew to an Exrocist and gimped the fight

If I recall, he possesed me a few times. But he does it far less then before. To be honest, I thought the two most annoying bosses in the game combined would be the hardest fight in the entire game. But single geist and single revenant were much harder. (Well, unless you undo his hp)

I had just Geist left with about 800 damage from dying. Then he uses Mercy Killing and wipes out my whole team and I had to start the whole damn fight all over again.

I remember fighting Geist in the demo and was like "Holy crap, did that sword just come out of nowhere!?" Also, thanks for putting up the touchscreen when Kamiizumi was speaking. I was a bit confused when they were talking to Anges and I could get any visual of it.

Yeah, he can still Possess. After I knocked him out of one of my guys, I killed him with Undo HP.
