What a game and what a series. Harper and Castellanos are the obvious storylines but what a job from the bullpen.

Honestly the MVP of this series was the entire pitching staff. The Braves average 6 runs per game. If they put up what they averaged it would have been a 3-1 series in Atlantas favor. The Phillies managed to win 2 separate games with only 3 runs scored. The way the pitchers made the Braves’ bats look like a below average offense is nothing short of spectacular. They made this series a piece of cake for the Phillies offense.

Was stationed at Philadelphia Naval Base from 77-80 as an 18 yo from Oklahoma. Became a Phillies fans and have been one ever since, I transferred from Philly after game 2 of the 80 World Series. Would love to go back someday during BB season to watch the Phillies again and get a real Philly cheesesteak. GO PHILLIES.

I wanted to beat the braves so BADLY. Been going to war with them a lot lately. They don’t like us and we sure as hell do not like them. You could tell during the regular season they think pretty damn highly of themselves despite the humbling we gave them last year. But once they knew they were seeing the Phillies again in the postseason they got in their own heads. Their offense went COLD. And then arcia goes and makes it worse for themselves. This series was such an epic performance by this team as a whole. I’m just happy we get another series of #redoctober baby! This series was what being a fan is all about!

I enjoy the game and the Storys have even floated to over here. Sry for my poor language 😅. I'm so hyped for every game thx to the phillies, there amazing Fans, the unbelievable Atmosphere, the Team and the howl vibe of the city. I will never be able to affort the trip and the tickets to watch a live game at CBP... but man would i give away my last shirt for that. Classic Phillies making the last few innings as stressful as possible. Johan Rojas may not be swinging the bat well, but so long as he keeps making spectacular plays out in center that’s fine by me. Strahm coming in first and third with no outs in the 9th and not letting a single runner score was incredible. Oh, and Bryce, Casty, and Trea are pretty good too.
@a-train69420
@a-train69420 7 ай бұрын
7th- Walk the bases loaded and somehow get out of it thanks to Rojas’ heroics. 8th- 1,2,3 inning facing Albies, Riley, and Olson (not an easy task) but of course we have the Harper elbow scare. I said to my buddy I would’ve preferred a Olson solo HR to Bryce getting hurt. 9th- 1st and 3rd no outs and somehow Strahm clutches up. I don’t think I breathed from the top of the 7th til the end of the game

I’m amazed how slow Ozuna was to first allowing Trea to turn that double given how long it took to get the ball to Bryce. Rojas’ catch only looks better the more you watch it. His addition to that team a couple months ago was one of their turning points as a team. The timing of Orion’s arrival as Rob was tuning them up for the Marlins, against the Mets will prove to be another big moment. It’s to the credit of the coaching staff that they’ve let starting pitchers go deeper than average, that first bullpen game with Ranger was was a ballsy move, should have taken Wheeler out a couple batters earlier, but he was spectacular as a whole. My only beef- Soto wasn’t in his element in the 9th. Beyond that, this Phillies team has swagger, it’s been an awesome ride. A great series win and winning a game like this is way better than finishing via a blowout.

Wild game. It has been the home run that has saved the Phillies this series. Ranger had a good game. Castellanos FINALLY became a clutch hitter as opposed to any easy strikeout or double play candidate. Strider was good except for a few hanging sliders ( like Wheeler the other night). Phillies left a lot of guys on base again. Kimbrel still looks shaky . Acuna is more worried about hamming it up for the dugout cameras. Rojas needs to learn how to bunt. Bohm , Stott, and Schwarber need to get going.

Phillies are just a better overall team with chemistry. You can’t buy that.

the irony being most of our team is actually bought 😂. Schwarb, Harper, Trae, JT, Casty, Marsh, Wheeler are all from different teams originally. Bohm and stott are home grown though.

There is such a thing as winning without class, and I don't want to be that way, but the Braves fans were talking all that smack after their win, one guy says, that the Phillies series wouldn't make it back to Truist Park, that the Braves were coming to Philly and winning two games, what a prediction. There will be no more games at Truist Park.

I think Trea Turner is getting a bit overshadowed, the guy is hitting .500 in the postseason and consistently came up with big hits

The Braves problem was that they thought they were going to win just by showing up. They didn't leaen from last year and they were smiling and dancing in the dugout after the first home run. It was the middle of the game, they were facing elimination and they acted like they were good. The Phillies were focused. They celebrated a home run but right after Casti was watching the game focused on the pitcher. That was the difference. The Phillies are fpcused and know they need to finish the job then celebrate. The Braves think they win just by showing up. Stay humble, stay hungry or go home early.
