Native Americans, especially Mesoamericans (Aztec, Yaqui, even Apache), revere the Coyote as a brother. I am not trying to create racial division or anything, I am just trying to illustrate the differences in culture. White men seem to want to just shoot them with a high powered rifle. I understand the reasons - they kill livestock. But the hate is really reprehensible.

@funkmonster4 жыл бұрын
The Raddest Chad that’s like being mad at a shark for eating a fish. Humans have encroached in so many ways on wild animal territory and they are hungry. So yeah sometimes a cat dies. But you hating coyotes because a cat died is like me hating you for eating a piece of chicken because I had a chicken as a pet when I was little. It’s just flawed human thinking.
@BigPuddin4 жыл бұрын
@@funkmonster No, it's called "understanding." I don't hate coyotes. But they can pose a threat to livestock and pets. Sometimes coyote populations get out of control and need culling. Making baseless presuppositions isn't rational and moralizing without context and understanding is equally irrational. I'm not going to chase down coyotes (assuming I could even catch them) and strangle them to death. But whinging about farmers blasting them for killing chickens and pets is not some asinine, heartless endeavor done by cruel, cruel, evil man. As that to which you even alluded, nature is red in tooth and claw. People forget that when they ponce around in a cute, safe enviroment in an animal enclosure. Animals will do what they have to. So will people.

Coyotes are wonderful and highly intelligent creatures. Their howl is a “roll call”. When a coyote doesn’t respond then the females automatically go into heat to replenish the coyotes that are gone. That’s the main reason humans have failed at wiping them out. Everyone should read ‘Coyote America’ by Dan Flores.

Oh just Coyote Peterson recreating the moment in ancient history when Humans first started domesticating wolves, but cuter and with lower stakes.
@lancel.38974 жыл бұрын
I thought it was generally accepted that wolves domesticated themselves, following humans and living off our scraps.
@beckybrooks21504 жыл бұрын
Lance L. That’s true. And over time, the more docile and friendlier ones who were less scared of humans, succeeded in passing on their genes over the more wild and aggressive ones. Since wilder wolves would’ve avoided people completely. Eventually, the humans noticed that there were friendly wolves who gave the benefit of guarding against other wolves, and could help with hunting. And then they started their end of the domestication process.

@@rerererere4114 generally animals that need to actively hunt (vs ambush predators)will be more intelligent as they need to outsmart and predict the actions of their prey.
