Being picky , I'd put a small tarp underneath the tent. Just get free ones from Harbor freight. You could either drive stakes through the holes if big enough or drive them through the tarp. You might stay warmer (?). Love the channel. Be safe

Fully agreed, I instantly thought the same thing! Please treat yourself to a fully enclosed tent. And then put a foam mat underneath the whole thing. Total game changer. Me and my 10 yo son are about to do the same thing in a couple weekends here in MI before the Super Bowl. Great video as usual !

Was also thinking a snow berm on the tent edge to prevent wind passing through. Looks like there initially was an air gap. Maybe leave a small 20cm gap for air for the stove to prevent oxygen starvation and CO danger.

I saw your fall in this video, and you are absolutely correct. Accidents can happen so quickly and unexpectedly. I suffered almost the exact same accident, but unfortunately, I did snap my leg just above the ankle. I had to hop on one foot through more than a foot of snow. Fortunately, my vehicle wasn't that far away, although 100 feet felt like 100 miles that day. I managed to get in and drive myself to a nearby hospital emergency room. Unfortately, again, the snow was still falling heavily, and I had to park and hop on one foot to the ER lobby. Good times!

My husband took myself and our kids on many camping adventures in our many tents and we spent all our extra time aside from that at our lake floating cabin. Very special and happy memories. I no longer can go though as it’s just myself and kids as he’s no longer here with us. Unfortunately I was not learning as I was to busy Mommying and haven’t a clue how to even cut wood!
