Original narratives by slaves state their owners, in some instances, encouraged their slaves to taunt WT without any repercussions. It was a status term among whites which this young man still uses. I have been careful how the people on this show trace their ancestry. I believe this young man holds this young woman in less regard than others who have the same pedigree. I suggest you read the book “White Trash” by Issenberg (I forget her first name) where she follows the word. This was not the only derogatory term used but many others that whites used to humiliate other whites as well. Then there are terms used by blacks to slur lower class whites as well.
