This is my favorite Laguna Beach episode. Not even because of the drama that happened, but the scene with Dieter and Lauren always stuck with me. I remember watching this in middle school when it aired and thinking that was the kind of supportive, platonic male/female friendship I wanted. He supported her first, then confronted Jason in a mature, nonagressive, but stern way to try and protect her. Dieter really set the bar high in this one.

I appreciate Kristen for acknowledging how Lauren held the guy (Jason) responsible and not come after the girl (Jessica) only. However, the way Stephen made excuses for Jason while saying he's not, rubbed me the wrong way. You can sympathize with a friend's struggle with addiction AND hold them accountable for bad behaviour.
@Spicytamale02 Жыл бұрын
Of course but it’s very clear in the scene that Jessica leaned in and kissed Jason first. Even though Jason was leaning in, she put her lips on his first. They are both at fault lol it’s just that Jason ALSO had an addiction he was battling during this as well.
@JS-hk5op Жыл бұрын
@@Spicytamale02 I didn't see that at all. I saw Jason kiss Jessica multiple times. And even if it was Jessica who kissed first, she wasn't the one in a relationship and didn't owe Lauren anything (although still not right on Jessica's part). Jason not only kissed Jessica back and cheated on his girlfriend with his ex, but he also then lied to Lauren about it, and completely blamed the kiss on Jessica to his friends. Yes I understand he struggled with addiction, and that explains some of his behaviors, but definitely doesn't excuse it. My sister had been with a recovering addict for 8 years and put up with a lot from him (stealing, cheating, lying, gaslighting), and there's only so much you can make excuses for them, even though their actions are actively hurting other people. With that said, I am very glad Jason is in a much better place now, but we should also be sympathetic towards the people who were affected by his actions in the past. Jessica was just as much a victim to Jason's toxicity as Lauren was (maybe even more, because Jason actually treated Lauren with more respect than we ever saw him treat Jessica)
@Spicytamale02 Жыл бұрын
@@JS-hk5op lmfao bye. Jessica was just as toxic as Jason. What kind of girl hooks up w/ a guy like that knowing he has girlfriends? What kind of girl would do this at a family event and then lie about it when confronted? Stop excusing women who hurt other women for selfish reasons. Jessica wasn’t thinking about anyone but herself when she went after Jason the two times he was with someone else. Jason had an addiction he can blame his actions on but what does she have to blame her actions on? That is the point I’m making. When you take away the blame, ultimately they both were toxic & shady & deserved each other in that moment. I mean to have your own best friends call you out the way Jessica’s did was enough to prove how toxic she really was.
@JS-hk5op Жыл бұрын
@@Spicytamale02 you do realize that Jessica was a year younger than everyone on the show, she was only 16 or 17 when all of this went down. A young girl can definitely do out of character things when she is in an emotionally abusive relationship with a guy. But sure....blame the other woman for a man cheating on his girlfriend. Even Lauren was aware enough not to blame Jessica for Jason's actions. And Jessica didn't go after Jason when he was with Lauren, Jason was more pursuing her and grabbed her face to kiss her. With the Alex situation, Alex had flirted with Jason while Jessica was with him, so Alex got some karma there. But you do realize the common denominator in all of this is Jason?? He cheated on Jessica when she was with him too. And Jason was not the only one drinking...Jessica and many other cast members were drinking throughout the season and made poor decisions because of it. Stop excusing men's poor behavior and blaming women for their mistakes. You seem more like you're putting other women down with that bullshit. Jessica was an insecure, young girl with a toxic, cheating, lying, manipulating boyfriend. You must be one of Jason's friends to be defending his behavior this much!
@Spicytamale02 Жыл бұрын
@@JS-hk5op Lauren blamed whoever she wants to blame, it’s clear she was frustrated w/ Jessica as well but what does that say about the girl that everyone seems more disappointed in Jason than in Jessica. It sounds like everyone knows what kind of girl Jessica was so ppl expected Jason to be better than that. Lauren has always been a better person than Kristen and her friends but for Kristen to call out Jessica like that on Lauren’s behalf told me all I needed to know about her. Jessica lied about it to Dieter & to Lauren when she called her out for sitting on Jason’s lap “who’s lap was I sitting on?” “no bullish*t, when did Jason & I kiss? I know he’s hooking up w/ Lauren” like byeeeee lmfao Girls like that who are so insecure they are willing to hurt another woman for a man will always sicken me. Sorry not sorry.

@@MySTiCTiNKeRBeLL yea same thoughts. They can tell us about the weather and stuff while I sip my coffee. I'd still tune in.

Please please...watch The Hills and give assessments...and bring on guests as well...i just want your thoughts and obersavations on those...you guys have wonderful insight...its so great to hear these observationsas you watch with your adult eyes...that sounded but weird...but i think it makes sense lol...This podcast is my positive pod cast between my murder/true crime podcasts lol

Kristen definitely could...but don't think Stephen would join. He wouldn't have much to talk about. He was only on part of one episode. And that was before Kristen took over.

After all these years Kristin is still so fucking gorg 😍 appears to have almost no plastuc surgery. As a Dad to a young daughter this is great to see from our female role models in pop culture.

This episode always bothered me. It was 100 percent on Jason. I always felt bad for Jessica because she clearly still had feelings for him and he treated her like crap and then all the sudden was giving a new girl all the time and attention he never gave her so how did anyone expect her to react when he kissed her? If someone you are heartbroken over does that you aren't going to worry about their new girlfriend. I never blamed Jessica. ONLY Jason.

This and Whitney’s reactions videos are the best…. I don’t know about that other podcast lol! They’re just not honest!!! Ugh
@ct6852 Жыл бұрын
I think they've mostly honest...until it comes to something that incriminates them. Lol.

I always wondered what the lyrics were...somewhere dead in Hollywood. I enjoyed the song.

Damn it's called 'Somewhere Dead in Hollywood'? Kinda dark for a bunch of teenagers to be chanting.

@ct6852 that's what I thought too. Hopefully it means something else. And not the way we are taking it but then again...

Lauren even said something to Deiter about being mean to Jessica bc it was more Jason than Jessica! #respect

Not saying you have to but I hope you guys do 50 episodes total with the last 2 episodes of the show, 3 more bonus fan voicemail episodes, 2 more guests (Lo Bosworth and Taylor Cole??) and a final episode to close the podcast just as my suggestion :)
