Dolores is very traditional even after all these years of being divorced, that’s what Joe expects of Melissa. But honestly I think Joe and Melissa are fine. Teresa isn't bright, controlling and vindictive. She managed to isolate her brother from everyone including their parents. Now that they are gone without him having any closure especially with his mother. Teresa will never like Melissa and will do anything to hurt even if that could damage her brother, she will. Who in their right mind would bring someone in the show to accuse the brother of something that send her and husband to jail? This will affect him for the rest of his life. Melissa is very shrewd and caught the situation very early on her marriage.
