Upon re-watching, the moment he didn't even check to see if he still has a hand to guard, I knew something was off. Even against 2 27k power attacks, he only needs 20k shield to withstand Naoki's assault.

@@pigifi Dude only has four cards in hand. (Though that's probably an animation mistake. He had five prior to Legion Attack and five after. Looking at the turn, it started at 3, went up to five with Strolling Banshee... And then it looks like he retires one to call from hand, and then explicitly calls from hand one of his samurai. So he should have had three cards in hand when attacking. That's the error, not the final result.) Any grade 3s would be duds, any draws would be only 5K... So it might be reasonable that he doesn't need to look down to know he needs one heal. A draw trigger and then one of each other grade or two grade threes in hand without two grade 0s and he just wouldn't have enough.
