Everyone needs to start somewhere & these are all things which a person can very easily implement right now, to limit the amount of information the big tech companies can gather about them, & ensure a degree of privacy. And the sooner someone starts doing these things, the less time the likes of Google, Apple & Facebook will have to accumulate information about them. So don't defer privacy - the best time to start is now.

Teenagers don't care about privacy - it's an alien concept to them, they were born into a world where it had no relevance in the first place. It shocks me how many youngsters hold a phone near their mouths and use hands free in public places where you can hear everything they are talking about - and some of the stuff you can't help overhearing really should be something discussed privately! Before I quit Facebook about three years ago (and I do not regret it one bit), I used to make a habit of trawling through the profiles of strangers to play a game with myself to work out, as finely as possible, what their home address was. Photos and clues would allow me to isolate their possible location (town or city suburb) to then just go to a phone book or voter register to find out their real address. It was quite easy on many occasions. Fortunately, I am a "good guy" in cyber-security and the first thing I did for these people was message them privately, explain how much data I'd managed to get and then advise them how to lock down their profiles from complete strangers. I find it utterly shocking what people reveal about themselves, and it's primarily the fault of social media playing on their narcissistic tendencies to brag about where they are and what they are doing 24x7. Older people like us remember having privacy and we understand the consequences of a world without it - therefore we can fight to retain it.

I very much like browser isolation, and have been using it in conjunction with multiple virtual machines for different purposes. But it can be somewhat tedious to spin up each machine every time, especially if only using web apps. Can I safely rely on browser isolation on my hosts machines and no longer need to use virtual machines when all I'm doing is using web apps?

For the record, the only reason to carry a Faraday bag is if you can get one that matches your shoes - then it becomes a nice accessory for when you go out to dinner. Otherwise a Faraday bag is pointless, because both Google and Apple have enough access into your phone and good enough algorithms to work out what you were probably doing in between the intervals you took your phone out of the bag.

Regarding the browser, chrome is google's app so they're following you anyway if you're using it. So it makes sense for that to be your google websites app and to use different browsers for other sites. Google owns youtube. But you're saying watch youtube without signing in to google. He is not recommending ipv6 for your own router , in fact many times he has specifically said to avoid this or use link local mode only.
