It's funny until you realize it's actually kinda sad. There aren't really any lightcones that work with him aside from his signature because none of the other lightcones for The Hunt offer break effect. Your choices are basically either his signature lightcone or the 3-star Adversarial lightcone for the speed boost effect. And maybe the 4-star River Flows in Spring lightcone, again for the speed boost, if you can avoid getting hit. Any other lightcone offers negligible benefit because his damage is almost entirely backloaded into break. There's always the chance that they release a 4-star break effect lightcone for The Hunt somewhere down the line, but for now his f2p options are virtually nonexistent. Luckily his kit allows him to preform relatively well even without a lightcone.

For LC alternatives, the 3* cone "Adversarial" is actually good thanks to the speed boost he gets on kill compared to the ATK, DMG, or Crit boosts the other LCs focus on.

So this was actually a bug thing in the firefly beta. Firefly just dealt no damage without HMC. What the devs did was they gave ff a small super break just so her damage could be significant without hmc. Hmc is still the top for super break tho.

While HMC allows for chunky hits across the team, Bronya has been tested and math'd out to be around 30% more team-wide damage just through enabling Boothill to launch his break dps many more times per round. For the character after Boothill though? Aha, let's just say that HMC is the absolute GOAT.

You might want to reconsider that after the new relic adjustment: it changed from "break dmg ignores enemies def" to "superbreak dmg ignores def". HMC is now tied to any break team. Also, you can't run a team with no sustainer because the new boss has tons of CC, and Boothill has taunt so he will definitely get CC-ed

He is here and he is dealing 40k for me ( I rolled for him on alt account where my highest dps deals 9k and he easily deals 40k) And what I can see that is FF is a good semi-aoe character while boothill is just a single target dps The hunt characters were always unpopular due to the game not having single target dps content for hunters to thrive in All that said I still think that boothill is wayyyy more futureproof than FF Because he doesn’t care about the elements of the enemy he’ll always inflict physical weakness And he is the only character (currently) that requires so much break effect Conclusion: just pick whoever you want both are absurdly fun and awesome looking.

I mean if you’re playing him then you’re also playing Firefly. And if you’re playing Firefly you know the two are kinda like Argenti and Acheron. Boothill is great, has his own gamemode. Not as great as FF.

What Break effect did Boothill have? And is the crit shown in the character scene counting the ghostload trace? Also was RM on watchmaker or HMC? what was HMC’s LC and break effect? Sorry to be kinda annoying lol but it’s hard to tell how good he is for me without knowing his exact stats and his supports so I can compare and see investment needed
