I'M Brazilian... What Musk did was use a Cloudfare reverse Proxy Public IP to avoid the Suspension and avoid comply with Brazilian Judicial Decisions. The big point is, NOW, not only did he do something illegal by Blatantly disrespecting the Law... BUT, in Brazil, we have GDPR as in Europe, in this maneuver to less secure Public Infrastructure ONLY FOR BRAZILIANS, he exposed Millions of Brazilian's data without at least a change in the use terms. He just deepened the amount of legal issues he is collecting in Brazil... This guy thinks he is above other country's laws and can difficult criminal investigations on crimes being committed on his platform (Nazism, Hate Speech, and Terrorism promotion is a crime in Brazil, not only for those who commit them but for those who facilitate it)

Brazilian here. It's annoying not having access to twitter and thats not the ideal scenario. But I am really proud that our country is not gonna be pushed around by tech giants. Almost everyone I know here agrees that twitter is down for Elon's fault. He could just comply with our laws and everything would be fine, but he insists on not doing it because hes an egomaniac. Your comment hits the nail right on the head. I’m a retired government employee, and for every one person who worked their tail off like I did there were three that did nothing. The management was awful. However in spite of or perhaps because of the fact that it was somewhat top-heavy and there were so many different types of people thrown together for so many different reasons, it seemed to work. It’s an imperfect system, but there are enough people who have differing opinions in places that count that it balances itself out. Humans are so imperfect that our system is almost the best you can hope for unless all humans become truly altruistic, and the chances of that happening are zero to none!

I am a black woman from the UK who brought few Testa shares a few moons ago. A lovely little nest-egg was built. I convinced my boss to add their cars to our company fleetBut then started to hear some disturbing ish regarding the treatment of Tesla's black and Latino workers. Seperating them from the rest of the workforce, calling employees racist names. He employed a black HR director to " clean up" she lasted less than a year. Suffice to say, i have rid myself of most of my Tesla shares. I told my boss to go another direction when it came to replenishing our fleet cars. This was prior to him bending the knee to Mr Trump.

Second comment for the evening on this post. I 😂Am right in the middle of a book called “Ludacris: The untethered story of Tesla motors”. It’s a very well written book by a writer who covers the car industry. He’s in a unique position to write a book like this because it’s kind of a niche topic. It really complements the conversation Chris is covering for us. It’s not just about Tesla, the car, but about Tesla the automotive company. It’s on Kindle.

It stands to reason that the more successful Tesla was, the more competitors would appear, probably with notable improvements on the product. That's how it worked with innovation and inventions in the past. Musk may have realized this, and therefore focused on "self driving" cars, but he refused to listen to advice on how to build such a car, and would only use camera. Now LIDAR is taking over self-driving, and probably other techniques. Don't you think writing a map applications like WAZE to actually *guide* (semi drive) a car must be on someone's invention list? Annoying if it drove the car in circles, as WAZE directed me in circles in a rural area, back in 2015. But such bugs can be worked out.

I’ve always thought that one reason Rupert Murdoch and Elon can be so right wing politically is because, they didn’t have a standard American high school education. I remember vividly how we studied Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, the Civil War, JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, the Vietnam war, the civil rights movement, Unions, importance of immigration… The horrible treatment of the Native Americans… So we learn the goods and bads and learn basically to be thinking, proud, patriotic Americans. When Elon made a post the other day that no one had threatened Kamala, I was really shocked. When we grew up we learned that there are certain things you don’t joke about. He thought that was a joke or he pretended he thought it was a joke. I don’t think he was joking at all I think it was just terrible taste And actually very dangerous. He is an immigrant and it shows. There are many immigrants who learn to love America and respect its culture. It seems he doesn’t.

Chris in Australia BEVs don’t make sense unless you have your own solar array and a stand alone house. HEVs will be the long term answer here. I the mean time , BEVs hit their sales peak last year. I can't let this go by without throwing in a plug for Lucid EVs. That is the brand that Tesla fans are most emotional about. Their EV tech, the stuff that makes the car go, is genuinely so much better than anything else on the road. I've had one for over two years and all those starstruck reviews are true. Funded by deep-pockets Saudi Arabia, I can't say that I recommend their stock to the average investor, but their Air sedan outclasses, outdrives, and is simply a nicer place to be than Tesla's Model S. Their base model is cheaper too. More than a few Tesla owners are switching, but all of them are talking about Lucid. When Lucid's new SUV starts shipping this autumn it will bury Tesla's Model X. The smaller cheaper Lucids start showing up in 2026.

Oh, hey, appropos tangentio, saw my 1st Tesla big rig. Carrying snacks. Had one of the big snack brand logos on the side. The Tesla T was on the front. On highway 101 yesterday in Palo Alto or perhaps Meno Park, a 'burb in there. It was a kind of sick metallic yellow. Unique color. However, the trailer was boring, generic white box, so the overall was that of a mismatch. I felt like I wanted the trailer to match. Oh, yah, California.

Before you consider buying a Tesla you have to read the book I’m reading now.. it’s called “Ludacris: The untarnished Story of Tesla motors”… very interesting and it also talks about the different competitors in their cars. It’s written by a guy who has a career writing about different issues in the automotive industry. It’s a very interesting read, and it gives you a lot of insight into the car industry in general. I think it might be a must read for a person considering buying an EV. I know nothing about cars but I was watching something on the KZbin channel “comments sense skeptic” and this book was referenced. It’s on Kindle. It doesn’t speak in like a technical thing, but it gives you a good overview of the EV market and the inner workings of the Tesla

The Renault 5 will probably take a chunk of European EV sales off Tesla too. The retro inspired design looks nice, plus it has a bit of motorsport background and will fit in most cities comfortably. Tesla really need to update their car designs imo, they look really bland and dated.
