Czech, I'm black like you and I don't use the N-word period. Using derogatory names to approach someone is disrespectful and plain stupid! Under no circumstances would I approach someone white, Hispanic, or Asian in that manner. People need to understand not every black person is comfortable with that word. This N-word treatment that you refer to at 11:55 is due to American rap. I’m Brazilian and lived in the USA and I know deeply what the word means. But most people in South America don't know. They hear this word so many times in songs that they think the word is a compliment. Unfortunately for most Brazilians and South Americans saying bro (sorry) to a black person is like saying “dude”.

Best tip in Rio. Don't go at nights randomly into the city specially outskirts where no one speaks English. Try to stay at the coastline, downtown and Barra. That's all you need to see and be. Love Rio

@@Steven-qi4gm Of course, all nightlife in Ipanema, Leblon or Barra, if you feel fancy, Lapa if you feel like going a bit out of the comfort zone, but I wouldn't recommend to just stroll around there, get some information, and head directly to one or two places, a classic is "Rio Scenarium", not sure if it still exists

This has not been my experience. I have never been called the "N," word in all my travels in South America. I tried to explain the " N" word to my girlfriend in Argentina and she didn't have a clue to what I was talking about I guess people have different experiences. Maybe I'm older and don't travel in your circles. The beautiful thing is how this brother is walking around and not being harassed not being harassed by the police. This is form of freedom that is missing in America. But by the way you look like you could be Brazilian they think you are another Brazilian doing your thing I was mistaken for a Brazilian all the time that I was in Rio.

Yes, you are in one of the most famous cities in the world and on one of the most famous beaches in the world! I just couldn't believe I was there when I went my first time. I had been to almost 30 countries and after leaving Rio, I had to say that it was one of the first places that lived up to the hype! You get a nice mix of tourist stuff with everyday stuff when you visit Rio. I really don't like when it tips too far either way. Just checked the Rio weather for you and Saturday is going to be 80 degrees and sunny! Get out there by 12 noon and stay until dark to get some great footage. I would recommend that you rent a spot under a big tent to act as your home base that day. If you rent with someone who speaks English you can get tips, food, drink and even women to stop by and party at the tent! That is what I did and I had a ball! My tent became party central ... LOL ...

Oh boy ... the N-word that you don't like has it's roots in Portuguese/Spanish. British sailors heard them using the Port word "negra" which means black and the British changed it to their N-word. But negra/negro is not a bad word in Portuguese. They also will sometimes say neguinho (little black man), negao (big black guy) and so on. It should not be taken as an offense especially if you are in the hood. I personally would not let a white guy call me that. Then there is "preto" which also means black. It's too involved for this post but you can get a local down there to break it down for you. Personally I like when they call me "irmao" which is brother ...

You are in their land, find out what it means to them first. You may not like the word, I understand that but you are in their culture, so you either get with it, or leave them alone. I personally don't like that word, but in Spanish "Negrito" & "Negrita" are words of endearment. Dig deeper into it first before just hammering them with our Western morality. Czech, the reason why you cannot see anything with the iPhone that had the screen replaced is that there is something called truetone that they were supposed to copy and transfer from the old screen to the new screen with a special electronic LCD tool so I would go back to the repair shop and tell them they need to transfer the truetone on your screen. good luck man!
