Im half brasilian and have visited my family in Rio countless times in life. I finally went to Salvador for the first time in 2015 and was just stunned at how beautiful and historical the place and people were... Such a laid back city. Sure, it has some pretty dangerous areas and people, like nearly every single Brasilian town or city, but its rarely a reason to not go and visit and have a small look around, meet the local people, as long as youre reasonable, alert, respectful, etc. Most people in this world dont have any innate intention to harm another.. Sadly Brasil is just poor and desperate with corruption on all levels and a lacking educational system.. Otherwise the potential down there is MASSIVE, and look at how gorgeous the people are.. 😍 I mean wow.. I'd marry a girl from Salvador in two seconds.. 😂

@@juzrhyme712 I've been away for a few years now so my opinion has changed. When I was there it was rough. I was in Sao Paulo so traffic is bad, it's expensive, it's dangerous and very crowded. However the people are very friendly and warm. I miss the food and the weather. Brazil is a special place if you can look past all of it's problems, just like the US or anywhere else. If you ever want to visit I strongly suggest not going unless you have someone to show you around. DO NOT SPEAK English or dress or wear jewelry. You do not want to make yourself a target. Otherwise Brazil and the people with the culture is a great experience.

I'm from Salvador, I worked with tourism when I lived there, many of the tourists I worked with were Africans and I say Salvador has an ENOURMOUS potential to be a city with an amount of tourism like Paris and New York, also to attract the Afro-Tourism, and also a retirement place for African Americans. Cost of life lower than big american cities and the city has a good structure that people can enjoy once they are retired.

Theres no country on the Earth that has happier, more dance inducing music, than Brasil... Anytime you hear those drums and samba being played in the background, somewhere, its just a good sound.. Its a powerful part of the culture for sure.. For being somewhat poor and violent country, Brasilians are still some of the happiest, most down to Earth people anywhere.. They just generally have a good and playful attitude about everything.

My gorgeous hometown. Salvador was the first Brazilian's capital, for more than 200 years. Over 4 million people live in the metropolitan area. Salvador holds the biggest street carnival in Brazil. You missed the beautiful beaches in the city. By the way, "hi boy" in Salvador means, What's up, fella? He did not mean that you were a boy. I understand that the language is a barrier and can be very tricky if you are not used to. Overall, you've done a great job. Greetings from London.

Good video. The beach scenes bring back memories. I saw a few places that I stayed at. I liked to get up in the morning and run and exercise near the beach after a night of partying. I was told the really crowded periods are during their summer when they host carnaval. Their summer is from like December thru April. The women there are fine and friendly. The women in the outfits are Bahianas. They dress up in African inspired clothing and sell African inspired dishes. One of the best sellers is a type of bean pie. They expect a tip for photos. I haven't been to Bahia lately but the Pelo has a reputation for being dicey at night. During the day you get your typical tourist there but at night a younger party crowd takes over. Lots of pick pockets and muggers. But it did look like the police were there trying to keep order. I go because it's a great place to catch some live music. Also there are a few good eateries there too.
