I remember back in about 2000 & 01,they had top players from Man United & put them in the same boots Pelé wore at 17 to win the worldcup & the ball as they were totally different, when the ball got wet it would be twice the weight with the water soaked in to the leather. And the top players from Mun U couldn't keep the ball up for more the 8 volleys. And what that was showing was the control Pelé had was second to none. Imagine Pelé today with his god given skills having todays luxurious footballs get ,he'd be unreal.

Great game. A couple observations: - Pele was excellent but he was no God. He skied two freekicks. The goal that was disallowed at the end of the first half was a bummer. Pele played well, but he also had the capacity to playact. Even the announcer noticed his "Dive of Death" lol. Well if you're not cheating you're not winning. - Rivelino had a terrible first half...and an incredible second half. His dribbling was the most devastating out of them all in this game. After the third goal he did an elastico and beat the same man three times! Can't believe this was the same player who couldn't put a foot right in the first half. - Gerson is arguably Man of the Match. Gerson was the Xavi of Brazil. HE was the playmaker. He took 5 or so shots as well. - Jairzinho was a bull! So strong and fast, he was giving his marker a challenge every time. - Mazzola deserved a World Cup for his performance.

The game was much closer than what the score might suggest. Actually Italy was the better team in the first half, yet Riva wasn't a great finisher. Only towards the end Italy fell apart trying to get back into the game and gave Brazil plenty of easy scoring chances.

Bob Moore, read the match very well. He said at the beginning that Carlos Alberto could be dangerous on the right side.....and that was the key of this match together with Gerson playing advanced in the second half. As for italy, first half was even....better still Italy created more chances and looked more nearly to score than Brasil.....BM also said that after the 2 -1 for Brasil , game was over as Italy was so tired due to exhousted semifinal with Germany at et.......not to forget Rivera not playing for the entire match.....Riva, Boninsegna, Mazzola e Rivera were much stronger that Brasil forward....due some research......

That is mostly in terms of playing conditions clueless arrogant modernist THe ball and pitches then were harder to play. Conditions always affect the way of play. And clown like you ar modernist who says arrogant things like that to undermine former players and overrate your overhyped media product footballers of these days And there's great display of technical abilities in football of 70s and 80s 90s Something there is not in the present robotic era lol Its no more beautiful game And idiots like you will think only creating lines is the only way to play . LOl that was the era of man marking. A different game. Different offside rule arrogant modernist A guy who understand football deeply will see all these things and realize the actions and plays . But an arrogant clown like u will just give arrogant verdicts based on prejduice And listen clown , go and read some football book like "inverting the pyramid " fist clown. All tactis have been basically developed by 1940s or 50s. Different tactics came into play at different times because playing condition and rules changed.👍
@FootPauler3 жыл бұрын
@@sohelbashar6925 it’s not being arrogant. Logically, Tactics and formation have definitely improved drastically. That doesn’t mean the players in the past weren’t also fantastic and very skillful players. If they played with today’s equipment and resources, I’m sure they’d even be better then they were before, But it’s ignorant to not believe that football has gotten better overtime with equipment getting better, more money being invested, better strength, conditioning, and medical staff which means players can train more and harder, better training techniques and methods to get more efficient and quicker growth, and a much larger player pool/talent pool. It’s completely natural for things to get better. That’s the beauty of life. Future generations learn how to apply what you did in the past and improve and build upon it. naturally we’d find more, better ways to play the game. The fact that even keepers and defenders have to be ball playing players says it all. Don’t understand why everyone is always so defensive of their own time period. No matter how great you believe your time was, chances are someone or something in general will be better in the future in terms of pure skill and performance ability. That doesn’t mean they’ll be better compared to their own competition of the time or be as revolutionary, but they will be better.

18:12 Pelé. 37:05 Boninsegna. 1:07:03 Gerson. 1:11:48 Jairzinho. 1:27:30 Carlos Alberto. This final against Italy, Brazil broke a 20-year and 5-year curse, everyone who scored the first goal lost in the final. 1950 Brazil 🇧🇷 1x2 🇺🇾 Uruguay 1954 Hungary 🇭🇺 2x3 🇩🇪 West Germany 1958 Sweden 🇸🇪 2x5 🇧🇷 Brazil 1962 Czechoslovakia 🇨🇿 1x3 🇧🇷 Brazil 1966 West Germany 🇩🇪 2x4 🏴 England. And the interesting thing is that the Brazilian team managed to break this curse that began with them in the 1950 World Cup.

Italy had a great side and played very well until Gerson's goal. After that...Valcareggi could have been more courageous with his subs but Brazil were the best side of '70 no doubt.

Honestly, for well over an hour, Italy more than matched Brazil but then simply ran out of gas. Understandable, they had a tremendous match against West Germany that went into extra-time only TWO DAYS earlier. That kind of scheduling would not happen today. For me, another reason for the loss was the choice of putting Albertosi in goal oner Dino Zoff. Huge mistake by Italian manager, Valcareggi.

That we didn't really get the final Brazil and the game deserved was a disappointment for everyone at the time and largely the fault of the Italians. There were flashes of top quality football and some fine goals but generally the Italians managed to take the edge off most of the good things the Brazilians tried to do and contributed nothing themselves. Jairzinho, Tostao and Pele suffered because it was they that took the attention of the Italians, who were determined to defend. Apart from Mazzola who played superbly none of the Italians emerged from the final with any credit. Indeed it was difficult to see what they had tried to do or what they were playing for!

@@davidl.8722 But my point is it didn't achieve anything for the Italians - they might as well have not turned up. When the Germans forced the Italians to come out in extra time of the semi final they showed what everyone had always known for years - that they can play real football. If they had done that in the second half of the final they could have won it.

After analyzing the first and second half of the Brazil match in the 1970 World Cup final, the disaster of free kicks and shots sent at the top of our house or building, haha, random passes, haha. If the Brazil-Italy 1970 match on KZbin was real, we would consider Billy a very ordinary player haha, even though he scored a fake goal against Juventus, haha.😂😂😂😂😂
