Is gender merely a matter of human physiology? Or is it something much deeper? In this discussion, we explore how the paradox of gender is an expression of God's own personality and how women give men a reason to be men! We also discuss why the word 'laughter' is used in the Torah to describe physical intimacy. We hope you enjoy this Bread Crumb and find the topic as fascinating as we do.

Grant and Robin, thanks again for your insight, sharing and teaching on a very important subject! I have listened very carefully. I am a widow and had a great relationship with my husband. Though now I understand better the concept of man and woman! I told all my friends, after my husband passed away that Jesus was now my husband. I don't know if I was wrong? I have never got married again and never will. I hope I will be part of Jesus's bride one day. I would be very glad if you can clear that for me if I am right or wrong! Blessings for you both!

I understand your sentiment that "Jesus was now my husband." But may I suggest that a more accurate way to think of your relationship is one of betrothal rather than a fulfilled marriage. The marriage supper of the Lamb has not yet taken place and until it does, we are awaiting His return to take us to our new home and and into a more intimate spiritual relationship with Him. Make sense?

What about what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 7 ?? [38] So then he who gives her in marriage does well, but he who does not give her in marriage does better. [40] But she is happier if she remains as she is, according to my judgment-and I think I also have the Spirit of God. Isn't it better to stay unmarried?

Great question. First, we must start with Torah as our foundation, and it says that it is not good for man to dwell alone. Period. And this principle runs throughout the Scriptures. However, at the time of Paul's writing it was illegal to be a Gentile follower of Yeshua. The only religion that was sanctioned by the Roman Empire (part from the pagan Roman religion) was Judaism. Hence, Gentile believers were in a very difficult position. Paul knew that this situation was not permanent, but it was the context in which Paul gave his advice concerning marriage.
