Love this recipe I have made it about five times now and I just can’t get enough. Thank you! One thing I do is instead of using a cap to make a hole I just poke a finger down the center and then sort of stretch it slightly open. Then I don’t have to remove a bunch of center dough. Also, I made them 125 g and increase the baking time slightly. Nice big bagels. Love it!

I love these bagels,just have a question…my bagels get a little too brown on the bottom and not brown enough on top? How can I fix this?
@ryh1683 жыл бұрын
Hi! I made these today. The house smells divine. Super easy to follow. Tastes great. Had to bake mine a bit longer to get the color right. I think mine is a bit dense, maybe? Anyway, thank you!
@YohoPlanet3 жыл бұрын
Really, dense? That's odd! My husband loves these bagels, I make it so very often! I'm glad it tasted good! Thanks for your feedback!

@@YohoPlanet maybe. It's been awhile since my last one. ): I do have two questions though, 1) what is the purpose of poking the hole first with the nozzle, and then with a bottle cap? 2) if my dough does not come out smooth, how do I remedy that?
@YohoPlanet3 жыл бұрын
1) It's just to give an idea that you can use anything you have to make the hole. The bottle cap worked better for me! 2) If you add a bit more water, the chances are that it'll get smoother, as every flour absorb the water in a different way. The density you mentioned may be because the flour you used is a bit dryer than the one I used. Did you make in a bread machine? Hope it helps!

@@YohoPlanet Yup. I used a bread machine. Will try adding some water next time around. Thanks for the tip. (:

Do the bagels only rise once?❤️
@SugarrPlump17 күн бұрын
I don’t think so, I did the recipe last time. Got tired so I left the dough in the machine to rise it did. Then in the microwave, next the fridge and this morning it was touching the plastic wrap.

I’m trying this recipe today. Could I make half today and the other half tomorrow? Wondering if I can just store the dough in refrigerator or counter. Or if both of those ideas are bad. If anyone has advice please let me know. Thanks!
@YohoPlanet2 жыл бұрын
You can bake them all and freeze the excess. I usually split them and freeze. This way, when it's time to eat, I just put in the toaster and they are as good as freshly baked.

This worked great for me. I have an old bread maker so it likes to be ✨difficult✨. I just set it to the dough function which takes at least 4 hours because I can't figure out how to turn off the staggered time setting. It heats and turns the dough, and in the end it worked out. To get the bagel shape I personally, just use my hands to poke a hole in the middle, and kind of wiggle it around so it gets bigger and skinnier. It calls for 12 bagels, but you could definitely make the bagels be around 50-70g each instead, and it would be a good size as well.
@YohoPlanet2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad it worked out well. But wow, 4 hours!? That's a lot! Have you googled how to turn off the staggered time setting? Maybe you can find an answer for that! And, yes, I agree. Now, I've been making them smaller. Thank you for watching and for your feedback!

I have not tried freezing the dough. But, I usually freeze the bagels themselves. you just wait it to cool down and take it to the freezer. It works perfectly! Thanks for watching!
