I played Angeles National with my brother and the wind was blowing off the mountains at 20-30 MPH. It made everything going away from the clubhouse soooo long and I only drive it 230 on average. It was super hard to gauge distance downwind and my game felt so exposed. There was hardly an easy pin placement that day either, so I 100% feel your pain.

Good stuff, GM! It’s always hard to see any slope on the green because the camera can’t do it justice. What if you could augment the greens on camera with red/blue for up or down slopes, or even moving arrows like with tour events on tv?

Lot of fun to watch. Angeles National used to be my home course, so played it hundreds of times. It is, as you commented, a difficult public course, as you saw it reach up and bite you on the butt. That said, I still think you played very well. Shooting under par from the tips, with normally difficult greens and some especially difficult pin placements - it was a good round. It is a pleasure to watch your smooth swinging talent.

first course Garrett has played that I have played. Course is tougher than it appears at first blush.

That greens keeper needs a lesson in pin locations. I worked at a good course and they had magical greens. But 6 of the holes had about a ten foot circle on each hole where if you were on the wrong side of the hole and hit it a foot to hard you could end up 30 yards off 2 of them. 3 of them could roll back at you and end up 10 feet further away. And the last one from five feet away you could without a doubt 4 putt.
