Wow I loved Tamzin’s bird and butterfly Zentangle she is very gifted just like her mum she has an amazing imagination. I also enjoyed your composition and colours Diane the hues were very sympathetic. You always manage to make me giggle with your banter and easy ozzy approach to painting you are a great doze of the happy hormone and we all need a good doze of those now and then. Thankyou for everything. Xx🥰🏴

Yes I enjoyed the leaf and berries ink and wash painting you just shared with us. Where I live the favored leaves are maple! i just watched your negative painting with them and I think you agree. Fun to watch and i've been painting on black paper with metallic paint so may continue your idea that way.

Wonderful! Congratulations Anne on being third prize winner! Nothing makes me happier than to hear someone who rarely wins has won a prize! I’m one of those ones too. I can count the number of times I’ve won a prize on the fingers of one hand, and I don’t even need five of them! Well done though, and I hope you enjoy the paper that you are going to purchase

Another fun adventure. Breaking away from realism - I am with you. Generation one’s own ideas, mixing colors that speak to you, that is where all the fun is. I love the varied leaf colors and the dark line work - I think it really enhances the image. Adding the second set of leaf lines in a simpler form highlights the first set. Learning so much! Thank you.

I bought a set of the poetique pens on your recommendation, their propensity for fading notwithstanding, and I love them. I especially love their fine point and them give them a bit of pressure and you get a nice wide shading stroke.

I really love these sprigs of leaves paintings, Diane. They are so pretty and great practice for brush control, paint mixing AND inking. I've done your Owl sitting on a Toadstool painting and am happy with that, although leaves n apples are too big so 'shrooms look too small in comparison but hey ho! I enjoyed doing it! I spotted your Zentangle a few days ago and have gone a bit mad on that! I've done ten of them so far and am having much fun with that. Was not liking the starkness of black ink on white paper though so have cut up some squares of paper and have painted light background washes on them in many various colours. They look much prettier and more cheery like that! Did a Zentangle Pumpkin on an orangey background yesterday which came out alright. Not quite as lovely and accurate as Tamsin's though - She is very Good at it! Anyway, Thank you very much Diane for this Great tutorial. Love, Mel xx 🍰🌻

Bises a bientot

Diane, I have a question about the water pens I think I see you using from time to time…are they empty when you buy them and you then put a mixture of paint and water in them OR are the loaded with certain colors from the factory? I bought some years ago and put in my own mixtures of paint and they leaked all over my painting 😞 so maybe I bought a not so good brand or maybe they are. better made now…
