Hi Paul and Margot, 🌸Thank you for taking the time to reply to my message last week, that was very kind of you. Today I have just returned from my Mums house, trying to go through years of memories and belongings, sadly I will have to do this many times before the house will be empty of any reminders of my dear Mum. I was only thinking this morning that with all the events happening around this sad world of ours, I take comfort from knowing that in and through all this that God is my strength and rock. So when I came back from Mum’s with my car full of memories, I decided to first pop the kettle on and sit down to watch your tutorial..... and to my delight you painted ‘Rocks’! I had a few tears and felt comforted, Gods timing is always perfect. Then I saw a news article about many of the Ukraine people are returning to their homes after finding out that most of the mainstream media are reporting false information about the incursion on Ukraine! Thank you again and my very best wishes and prayers for you and all your family. 🙏🏼🦋🌻

Dear Mr Clark, and many thanks for this very painting, that inspires me to try again, though I love to paint in watercolor. However my muse has gone and come for a time now, due to bad happenings. Well If I should be honest, my paintings re-started, soon after my mothers death in September 2021, and I had to fill the vacancy with something. No sorrow, but gratefulness, as she were 91-1/2, and we had funny every Saturday evenings for years, when I cooked, and we joked until early night. I filled the emptiness by painting, and it was a lisa for the soul to paint, mixing, and blending with good quality materials, and creating pictures again. Good watercolors are so vibrant and colorful, and a good paper calls for to be painted. It made me happy just to begin with color-schemes. I painted lots in the autumn, as well as a Christmas card, with a blue-tit at a tiny branch of snow-filled pine. I used your background hint in darkness, and a bleach front sunlight, as well as splatted snowflakes, as you teach. It made my day. I was satisfied, and the receivers went happy. I owe you my gratefulness for the hints. At the time I was in my essay, and would try a still life, though I had bought some fresh fruits. Very fortunately, or realisticly, I arranged the most beautiful of an orange, an apple, and a banana in a pose I wanted, as well as the lighting, and took some camera shots. I suspected the fruits to loose their luster before I had time to paint, them, so A photo they got, and I could eat them as well. :) Then, the first attack occurred. Almost everyone of my colleagues got sick in Covid att Christmas eve at 17-th a clock, and we infected anybody long before any symptom, so everyone we met went sick two days after that. Such a scoundrel of evil virus? However, I managed the still life picture, but of weakness it took me one fruit per day, before I went exhausted, as well as a couple of days more to adjust, the backgrounds, and shadows. Due to that slowlyness, when every velocity was gone and lost anyway, I could as well experiment with shadows, and I tried mixes with umbers, and different kinds of blue. I even don't remember what I choosed, but I will guess burnt umber, and french ultramarine, maybe some burnt sienna. Good learning process it was. I went off to work again, even though I don't have to, due to my age, but I love my work as an engineer, as well as I love my colleagues. They are my family. Quite soon, I found something I would love to paint. I was an old picture, with a low resolution, of a postcard from the 1930-ths. A photo, taken by a professional then, due to the good composition. A quite local gravel road, that I have memories of, due to the beautiful stone-bridge over a small river, that grows, and is quite big where I live some 20 km downstreams in Tibro, and it grows more until the lake Vänern in Mariestad. The river Tidan. The black and white picture was of very coarse resolution, but I felt a love for painting it, as well for the old bus, that have stopped in a good position. Thanks to the photographer then. I choosed red for the bus, but it could have had any color, though nobody can tell at the time. I am happy for the painting. But, dear Mr Clarke. I am down again, due to the horrible russian attacks against Ukraine, and it paralyses my mind, as well as my muse, who hides herself somewhere. I cannot solve the war, so why not try to paint anything? Well this show of yours, may make me back to the brushes, even if I just copy. So many, many thanks for your efforts. Just another thing Mr Clark, that is caused of pure love, despite politics stupidity. We miss UK so much in European community. Never before has Europe felt as united as now as we are supporting Ukraine with anything, and UK hangs on, but perhaps misses the unaminity. A good Winston Churchill type, would have been a gift at these times, but these an gone, but we can be grateful to not have a Trump in USA. Don't ever feel expelled into EU again. We feels that Brexit was a mistake, and wants our friends back again. Cheers. Bjoern
