Lets Read! I'm sorry you lost all those videos. I can't imagine the level of work that went into them. And I know its a big loss, but we all make mistakes, so don't feel too bad. I loved listening to them when doing work and they were so interesting amd entertaining due to your voice and presentation. They made my day. 😊 But this channel is so amazing, I've no doubt soon you'll have no problem refilling it with intriguing stories of horror. I look forward to seeing that happen. Best of luck, -M.

first and foremost let me say that I'm sorry that your narrations had to be removed, I can only imagine how hard it is to give up not only viewer count and channel growth, but revenue as well, i'm sure. but man you don't know how much of a blessing it is to hear someone understand what's wrong with taking someone else's intellectual property and potentially profiting off of it, while the original owner receives potentially nothing. there are so many cases of younger narrators (both in the horror genre and comic/animatic voice-over genres) of choosing to be defensive and defiant and rebel against the original artist/content holder, where these younger narrators will choose to continue to upload out of spite or purely for the monetary aspect. and i'm not gonna lie and say i understand your circumstances in full, but i was still shocked to hear someone come forward to admit a mistake in this community (you can tell how far and few in-between people are willing to own up to their actions lol). for better or worse, i hope to see you continue your narrations, and I'll follow your channels as far as you're willing to take them. thank you for all the content!

I don't know why authors would copyright strike you. I mean now that the videos are down almost nobody will read the stories anymore. The authors are kinda hurting themselves there.

Music for Meditation If someone tunes into a channel and suddenly begins hearing their specific story or stories being read repeatedly I understand why they’d be upset. Not all of these stories are fake, some of these people that submit their stories to Let’s not meet or Creepy Encounters are traumatized and have a permanent emotional and sometimes even physical scar. They share their stories in those specific threads as a way of coping and seeking support from others. So to find out some random person has taken their personal experience and is profiting off of their suffering (so to speak) and can’t even have enough respect for the victim to request permission to narrate it? I think they have every right to dispute the use of their stories. Sure it would have been nice if they all just contacted LR directly and sorted it out that way, but some of these people have PTSD and are still suffering from their experiences. So they probably did the first thing they could think of....I hope that makes sense? I’ve been a long time listener to this channel, I’m honestly disappointed 😔 and I don’t normally think twice about issues like this.
@musicformed6 жыл бұрын
PTSD or not it's an asshole move to strike somebody. I mean that's probably LR's main income and these people are destroying his main income, meaning they threaten his existence for stories they fucking shared on the internet. Like what do these people expect? Hey let's share it on reddit, tumblr, blogger... but KZbin narrations...NO WAY! Come on these people striked because they thought "he's making money maybe if I strike that money will go to me". There is just envy and greed.
@Nylak-Otter6 жыл бұрын
Music for Meditation It's literally material that they created and released to the public for free, and someone else is profitting off of it. I occasionally post uncommissioned illustrations that I drew just for fun. I don't mind if people repost them. It offends me when others sell prints of them and profit. They add an additional element (narrators narrate, printers print and ship), but original creators deserve credit if profit is made.
@musicformed6 жыл бұрын
you got a point Nylak Otter
@Lunakinesis6 жыл бұрын
Intellectual property, dude. Just because they're posting them online for free doesn't mean it doesn't belong to them anymore. As a writer myself who has had several stories narrated: it is a big deal and means a heck of a lot. I don't profit from my writing by posting it to reddit and elsewhere, but someone who narrates it and hasn't asked me if they can and then goes on to profit from it hurts me. Because then I don't get the readership. I don't get the potential writing commissions or story views. And in the case of true stories from Let's Not Meet, then you got a whole other level of these being personal accounts from someone's life. It takes five seconds to shoot a message to the writers on reddit ect to ask permission to narrate our stuff and I promise you 99% of us will be over the moon and happy to let anyone do so. We just want due credit for the material.

It's different when someone takes your story and makes a profit from it. If he wasn't making any revenue from his videos it'd be a different situation. I love Let's Read, but it's also important to support creators of any kind and always ask permission before using their work, especially if you're going to make profit from it. Let's not judge people for not wanting other folks to make money off their hard work.

SADIA BROOKS - usually when you register to a website you are made to click on a button that says "accept terms & conditions before registering" and what they do with the things you submit to the site is always covered there.
