Yes, this was beneficial information! I’m starting in the position you were in with all the exact experience- except I’m in the tech industry. I’m looking to build relevant hardcore L&D experiences now.

Really good points - I’ve been asked to lead L&D of our advisory / consulting division. The list of skills feel intuitively correct. Will experiment!

Very insightful and spot on information! As a former OJT program manager for a tech company, I would like to highlight the importance of stakeholder management.

Very helpful video. I was curious about your process of how you developed a training program plan for the scenario you were given. I too have been given this task and I’m worried the path I went might not be what they are looking for. I’d love to hear more.

初めまして、 サンジャナです。 Such crisp and insightful content! Without any second thought I subscribed to the channel. I worked as a trainer in customer service organisation. I really want to deep dive into L&D department. Also, I am planning for my masters from Japan. Could you please suggest, what specific degree I should go for as I want to start my career in L&D. I've done N4 of Japanese language and working on my Kaiwa skills to make my survival easy in Japan. Would appreciate if you can provide some guidance. Thankyou! 😊

Thanks so much! I'm watching a lot of your videos, as I'm a teacher trainer who's considering pivoting into the private sector. Trying to figure out whether I'm more drawn to the "desk-sitting" ID tasks or the more extroverted presentation parts of the job. I might take an instructional design course, or I might just start applying with the training skills I have! From your videos I'm getting the impression L&D jobs vary from company to company, so pivoting to the RIGHT one requires a lot of creativity and networking.

Loving your attitude about it - you hit the nail on the head about pivoting into the right one for you, so I’m so sure you’ll be able to :) I’m still personally figuring out which parts I like best and find that a mix is the most fun, leaning toward the program managing/strategy. Don’t be afraid to play around and discover what you love, as our career is so long ❤️ whatever skill you build, when you look back will all come together so it’s never a waste to be learning

I’m trying to keep a positive attitude. It depends on who I talk to, so I appreciate that your videos are realistic but also positive and enthusiastic. Keep up the good work!

Presenting as an expert or putting a presentation together to tell people how to do things is not training. However, this is what most employers would consider training.
