Yeah, we didn't have drum or percussion instructors that even knew how to do any of this in high school, which is annoying because I really wanted to learn how to play like this.

Ikr! Ours can’t do it either, and I was the only kid in hs who was ambitious enough to practice this stuff on my own. Very annoying. Seems like the only places you can play this kind of stuff is DCI lol

He played his part in a split down the line, you just play one group of 4 from those notes while the rest are played in sequence down the line.

That 32nd note part is split down the line, each person gets an eighth notes worth of thirty second notes.
