Thank you so much for hanging out with me tonight. Tonight's video is all about using up that stash of yours. This is a great project to mix and match with all your bold papers and solid colours. You could even go with some foil card for a more striking card :)

This video makes so much sense!! I love that you used vellum to tone down the brightness, and still have full color showing around the edges. Great tip to use the die cut as a placement tool. My only problem is that sometimes my glue squishes out, and I have a delicate job of prying the placement piece out again!! User error yet again! Thanks so much.
@SashaReade
@SashaReade 2 жыл бұрын
yes that can be a right pain. Sometimes i find the glue in that case might be a bit too runny, the glue i use is a nice thick tacky glue, makes it easier for not smooshing too much. Also if you struggle try for dots all over rather than rubbing it. Tinny dots might do the trick for you. Thanks for watching and commenting again Sue :)

Great idea. I presume you used the actual die cut on other cards as well tfs
@SashaReade
@SashaReade 2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I meant to mention, that i used the same die cut for placement- in case any glue got on it, and kept the others for use on another card!

Love this technique! I also love 2 for 1 cards, and obviously we can do that with this technique. Were you trying to think of die cut inlay maybe? This is kind of a take on that. Either way, tyfs!

Great ideas, very effective! Please may I ask - do you tape your die cutting machine plates together? I have a Big Shot and I think you are using a Big Shot. It looked so much easier to align and use.
@SashaReade
@SashaReade 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Margaret, No i dont tape them together. I have 3 plates on the bottom and then one on the top, i just line them up then stick them in my machine, and pop what im cutting on top then place the top plate on. Ive never felt the need to tape them- though i know quite a few crafters do :)

Was the word you were trying to think of “negative space”, since you were filling in the negative space with the card stock?

" I'm a bear of very little brain" I really like this. I have watched twice and I don't get the point of cutting out the words, then gluing them back in? How does it end up w/o the words again? What did I miss?
@LindaWYorksUK
@LindaWYorksUK 2 жыл бұрын
The main, full happy birthday (positive) die cut was just placed back on, not glued, so that all the other (negative) pieces (like letter centres and the pieces from between the words), could all be glued back in place, accurately. Once the are in place the full happy birthday die cut can be taken out and used on another project. Hope that makes sense and helps 🥴😊
@SashaReade
@SashaReade 2 жыл бұрын
Linda's got it right :) I only placed it on for spacing so that i could put the negative die cuts back in to make it look like the words again, but so that the papers were showing through from under
