Me too! This will be my first full on attempt to tackle a TTRPG. I “dabbled” in D&D but never got beyond the beginner board game. Slowly digging my way through the backer PDF

Loved this video, thank you! I got some great ideas for the loosely Princess Mononoke-inspired scenario I'm going to start my group with (remote settlement mass-recruits adventurers in hopes of "rebalancing" local ecosystem; hijinks ensue). I now know that the settlement in question will be in the mountains between Shard and the Shadowed Lands, and that more beasts are being driven into the area by the expansion of fungal forests and -human activity- *>pan-species habitat destruction< to the south. And maybe somewhere there's a broken Small God who historically presided over the region's wilderness, and some beasts think all the problems might be solved if it were woken up? Exciting stuff! Can't wait to get it to the table when my group rotates GMs.

I just got to this section! I love how loose the setting is in the main book but there is a lot of fun and evocative tidbits of lore, so I would be very interested in seeing what else y'all have to offer in the future! :D

It's great to hear more about the lore! I've been obsessing over the pdf since I got it, and it felt like there was a lot here unsaid (me trying to patch together the few morsels of lore from the gear and adversaries sections...), and yeah makes sense a lot was cut for space. I've already been rewriting the Octia Scroll with my own ideas for a game I'd like to run lmao I'm very interested with the First Hero/Regulus, it's such a compelling figure. I've gone with a version of history with less details on the events so the players would know less (and leave me more room to improvise/change things as i run the game and we discover the world), and decided to hide the fact that the First Hero and Regulus are the same person... In my version, I imagine the First Hero was defeated, then reshaped into a new form, with a new dream. People think Regulus is just a Guy. A really cool powerful guy but not an immortal. Anyway I'm still thinking things through, this is so exciting!!!!! I absolutely ADORE what you've done here!!!

Even I have a version of Regulus that doesn't align with Rey's! This is exactly what the ambiguity is for, to let GMs build on some loose scaffolding with something that appeals to them or their good. Glad you are enjoying the book!

So glad I back both editions and the digital copies. The art is beautiful. Also I disagree. NSEW does take away from the gameplay lol. I love the fantasy names for the directions. Very original yet not too crazy. Honestly perfect name choices.

Yall really need to get this art animated and make an anime with the lore. Unless I just don't pay attention and it already exists, you have a great brand potential here and a huge opportunity to turn this into a large fan base for anime and dnd/fantasy lovers.
