I have been casually, occasionally making music for over 20 years now, but never jumped into music theory because I found it intimidating and wasn't planning on doing music full-time, etc. I knew most of what you have been teaching in this series intuitively just from being around it so long, but the way you explain things is so clear and precise, it really cemented what I knew and explained how concepts relate to each other. You're a fantastic teacher. *Please* keep this series up!

I hardly ever leave comments, but feel like I need to give a BIG thank you for this series. I have played instruments for over 30 years and NEVER heard these topics explained in such easy to digest ways. You are a wonderful teacher and I would love to see another set expanding on what you've taught here!

this has been the most incredible tutorial series I've ever watched on KZbin. I grew up with no schooling on music whatsoever so I only knew the few songs I learned on piano as a kid. I've been watching this over the course of 2 months, and really letting the concepts take time to click in my brain. And oh man I'm glad I've been so patient with my learning because of you I'm implementing things I've learned from this series into my own tracks on ableton, into bettering myself at my instruments, and some topics have even transfered to vocal practice. You're style of teaching is so unique I really can't put it into words. you're a talented musician and teacher :)

My favourite mnemonic for remembering the modes is: I Don't Particularly Like Modes A Lot Modes are awesome though, and so much more straightforward than a lot of people make them out to be (not sure if this is just bad teaching, or a bit of them trying to make their knowledge seem more impressive than it is).

taetro, this was a fantastic series. i purchased the launchkey mini mk3 around release and for most of my time owning it, i felt lost on how to really maximize its potential. i took some music classes and while they did help me understand music better, i couldnt never fully implement it into the context of a daw. this series really filled every hole that was missing in my understanding of music production and gave me the boost i needed to do what ive wanted for so long. thank you truly. hopefully you'll see my name floating around someday because of this

from the bottom of my heart Taetro, I have learned more in this course than in the years of formal piano school growing up as a kid where you learn songs, chords, scales, etc and then just get tested on them at the end of year, not rlly knowing how to apply that to creating music. thank you, thank you, thank you-this course has impacted me so greatly. all the best to you

ok listen Taetro, I need to take a moment and re-write my comment here. I've completed your music theory playlist and I am SO THANKFUL. It couldn't have been more perfect for me. I used to beg my mom for piano lessons as a kid, but we could never afford it. Now? Now I'm super excited to apply these principals. You've demystified chords for me! I can find a key without looking to the circle of fifths. I'm just so excited, and thankful. I mentioned in another video that I could see how much work you put into this class. You make it easy to learn, you make it look effortless, but I can see you put real work into this, and I appreciate it. Thank you so much, Taetro. You're the best!

This series was awesome for a complete beginner. I have to agree with the thing at the end where you said that its all about starting to create music. It was kinda diffuclt to grasp the concepts throughout the series but it all comes together when you just play around in a music production app. Very nice my dude

These videos are fantastic. Been playing guitar for years and I guess I've fallen into a trap where I rarely think about theory or the structure of music, it's just shapes and patterns on the fretboard. Recently got a midi controller (arturia keylab), now I'm trying to produce and learn piano so all of your videos are a phenomenal refresher on the basics that I really needed.

you should make a more advanced music theory series, where you discuss of course more advanced stuff than the ones we've already seen in this series, i like how you explain things i literally can fluently play scales and chords in less than a day, i didnt even had to rewatch any video at all

I watched this whole series and have been working through it with my new akai mini play and garage band. Much of which was inspired but this series. I’ve got my first piece of music laid down using I V vi IV cord progression and tried to follow all your rules. I have the rythem, base line, cords, and melody on 6 tracks. Really cool. Thanks for your teaching. Love the mini play. Got it for vocal practice but ended up writing music lol 😎

I feel like everything makes so much sense after this series. Thank you so much, it's really insightful and you explain it in a clear and connected way. When I listen to music in general now, I can hear the melody much more and different layers in a song etc because I understand them. So. Valuable. ❤️

Awesome Video. Wanted to call out this obvious nuance, in case it was missed when modes were presented. In the key of C Major (all the white keys starting at C) the 7 modes translate to: C Ionian (C Major) D Dorian E Phrygian F Lydian G Mixolydian A Aeolian (A Natural Minor) B Locrian Sorry to point out the obvious here :) BTW, for all you producers out there, invest in this plugin called Scaler. It will revolutionize how you make music and thanks to Taetro's theory videos, it will be a powerful tool in your arsenal.

Thank you so much for this series! I've been playing piano on and off for about 16 years and I still learned so much that made me a better musician. Before watching, coming up with chord progressions and melodies always felt daunting to me but now I understand how it all works and I'm already writing more of my own songs; something I wanted to do for years now.

First and absolute foremost, thank you for this series. Im currently on the fence of trying music production and am hovering on the idea of career path or hobby. This video series, your energy and approach, the information given and how it was broken down, and your many other tutorials (many of which i have yet to wstch) have been nothing shy of encouraging. This video is what made me decide to save some money for some basic gear and not worry about where the path leads me. But rathee, i just want to make music in a better quality formst than my phone. Thank you immensly for your time and effort in your videos. Love your music, especially your lofi! Keep up the killer work. And lastly, youre rocking the absolute daylights outta that shirt my friend haha 😜

@Taetro Жыл бұрын
Haha thank you! It’s actually half diminished, and I don’t hate it, it’s just not super relevant in this beginning stage. If you remember what I mentioned about 3rds and 5ths in a chord, try playing the vii chord and examine the intervals inside it
