I have had two people run into me in the past 18 months. I was fortunate because I was not at fault in either case. The usb is an old style usb that I'm familiar with. I can actually plug the camera to a phone charger if im away from the vehicle as a quick solution until i get a female cigarette plug receptacle for a lithium battery setup. I can hook up a phone to access the wifi features when I'm gone.

Yes, it comes with that option and you have to install it (the red wire). Usually this requires a technician level person to do it as most average people cannot do it themselves.

Omg can someone please help with this shit. lol so I’ve had the camera for about a week or so installed in my car and it works perfectly fine, even records while car is off. For some reason I CANT SET THIS DAMN TIME. I get to the menu, SWITCH THE TIME AND EVERYTHING BUT CANT LOCK IT IN, everytime I press “home” and it goes back to recording, the time always goes back to the incorrect time.. how do u lock the actual time in .. please any advice will be greatly appreciated

Try this: (first set the time and date you want and then press MENU once to enter video settings. Then navigate to the "Date Stamp" option. Press OK. Make sure to select the status to ON. Then press UP or DOWN button to enable it. If it's disabled, the date stamp won't work. Press OK to confirm. Press and hold the menu button for 3 seconds to exit. See if the time stays now. If it still doesn't work, do the steps again, but after exiting the menu, turn off the camera and it turn back on (restart). Then see if the time stamp locks. If still doesn't work after that, then try a factory reset and then do step 1 again or you can try using a different memory card and see if that helps. Cheers.

@@breakaway2x OK that’s where I’m having the problem after I enter the time and date and I try to go back to the menu. It allows me to press menu once but when I try to navigate and go back to the video settings to get to date time stamp it won’t allow me to get back to video settings. My question is what button do I then press because when I press the M button, it just goes back to the recording screen of the four different views that I have what button am I to pressed to click on the video settings instead of general settings? Might be a stupid question… but does anyone know how to remove the damn suction cup?? The suction sucks now so the company sent me replacements, but the damn thing looks like it’s a part of the mount??? The mount looks like it’s attached to the camera, too. I love the camera but this is weird to me as suction cups lose their suction and what if the mount breaks? I’d lose the camera too. This seems like a major construction flaw. It just be possible to remove the suction mount because they sent me new ones but I just don’t know how - does anyone know how or can it not be done?

Thanks for asking! You can remove it by sliding it off the holder but it's really tiresome to do this each time you park. Don't worry about potential thieves wanting to break into your car to steal your dash cam. It's really not as valuable as the risk of getting caught committing a crime and most cars now will have dash cams so it's everywhere.

The red cable is for if you want to connect it for power on "reverse". When you put the car in reverse the cam will switch to rear camera display in your car display.

I would try to set the date and time, then press OK to confirm your entry. Press the Menu button to exit the Date and Time setting and then press and hold the Menu button for 3 seconds to exit. Also toggle and turn on Date Stamp as well to ON. Press OK to confirm and press and hold Menu button for 3 seconds to exit.

Thank you for pointing that out! Yes, some of the listings will come with a 128 gb card, but my order came with a 256 gb card as I showed in the video. There are different versions that may or may not include a 128, 256 or no card. In any case, they are relatively inexpensive and need not be a concern. Good eye though! You are very attentive!

Thanks for asking. Vantrue N5 4 Channel dash cam is about $200 more. It does boast slightly better specs at 2.7K front and voice control mode, so if you think you can spend the extra money to get the better Vantrue N5 model then it's a fine choice. The Pruveeo D90 4CH is a more cost-friendly mid-level range dash cam. A nice compromise between value/price and quality. Cheers!

You'll need to download and install the app for the phone. It is in the manual and QR code. To erase the card, you can do a format from the dash cam or the longer way which is to remove the memory card and put it in your PC with a card adapter and format it but best to format in the dash cam because it conditions it to be ready for use. If you format it in PC, the dash cam may still ask you to format it again in the dashcam.

Thanks for asking! Connecting the rear dash cam while the car is on and running won't be an issue since power is being supplied. If you turn off the car, the dash cam will also be powered off (if connected by the 12V adapter) so no battery drain. The only time it will be a little more battery drain is if you hardwire it directly to your car battery (this is if you want to power the dash cam when the car is powered off such as parked overnight), then the additional camera will add a little more power drain. As for the viewer, if you set the camera settings to record on all cameras but you only want to view the front camera on the viewer, the other cameras are still recording, yes. The viewer is only for showing you what the camera is seeing. You can change settings on what cameras to view in your viewer and what cameras you want to use for recording or not. Sometimes people might only want the front and rear cameras to record and don't need the inside/side cameras recording.

I am using these for patrol cars and also BMW Police Motorcycle R1200 RT P, so in both cases they have to be mounted upside down (on dashboard) as in California you can get a ticket for sticking anything on your windshield. I am still experimenting but I wanted to know for recording purposes, does the rear camera need to be with the mount above or below the camera? or does the device know what it's position is? I know the other cameras self adjust.

Good question. If I remember correctly when I set mine up, it didn't self-adjust so if you didn't place the camera properly, you may be recording it upside down so best to check in your display screen that it is right side up before sealing it in place.

Si el conector de alimentación de la cámara del tablero es de tipo C, entonces debes comprar un adaptador de cable de alimentación que sea de tipo C en un extremo y que tenga un enchufe de 12 V en el otro extremo. El enchufe de 12 V es el enchufe circular que tienes en el auto y que antes se llamaba enchufe del encendedor de cigarrillos. Pero debes asegurarte de que el cable que compres tenga las mismas especificaciones que la unidad de la cámara del tablero... el mismo voltaje y amperaje.

Why front and rear cameras don't have Infrared light but both side cameras do?

Good question. The reason is because the front and rear cameras are facing traffic where there is light. A car coming behind you would have it's light flashing at the rear camera directly so it wouldn't work in most cases. In the front your own headlights provide lighting so infrared would not be useful unless you drive around without your headlights on. The side cameras are meant to turn inwards (inside car) where there is no light unless you drive with your indoor car lights on all the time. So that is why the side cameras use infrared because you are directing in spots that don't have it's own light source.

You should be able to exit from the menu by pressing the menu button again. Out of the box it is set to auto start record as soon as it is powered on. If it doesn't do this anymore, it must mean the setting was changed. You can go into settings and set it to record on startup.

Thanks for the video on this camera! Your review is the only one I found that showed actual video samples from the camera. I was looking for such a camera. Unfortunately, the video quality is pretty poor by today's standards. I think it is because they are putting all four cameras on the single video feed. 1080p * 4 = 4K. Since they only have 4K to work with, there is really no other way to do it. Do you know of any other dashcams that have four views, with a separate feed recording for each view, each 4K in quality? Thank you for your comment! Normally the wire for the rear camera should be tucked inside the seams of your car's upholstery (the ceiling edges). For the review purposes I did not tuck it in. Also, the red wire is if you want to use the rear camera as a parking assist. It will show up on your car's display panel (LCD/LED display). I have not done this for the review. If you want to connect it, it will require some technical expertise and most people will just get it done at a car center that installs dash cams. You'd have to remove the main console of your car, find the harness, and usually there will be a connection marked "reverse" and that's where you'd connect the red wire.

Thank you! In general, all car batteries when parked (off) and using dash cams to power it will always be under more usage than car batteries that don't have a dash cam. While it is very negligible, like any battery, the more you use it the faster it will wear out and have to be replaced but it's so negligible that it's not something to worry about. The bigger issue is if you accident drain your car battery so much that you have hard time starting the car because there isn't enough battery power left. Fortunately, all new dash cams have a cut off limiter. It will stop using the car battery once it reaches a certain voltage level so that it will not fully drain the car battery making you unable to start the car.

It is very important!! 3) Going back to your vehicle and turn off the dash camera. Insert TF card into the slot of the dash camera. Connect dash camera to the power。 4) The light is blinking during the upgrading. After upgrading finished, turn off the dash camera. 5) Pull out the TF card from dash camera and format the TF card by computer to avoid upgrading again. Notice: During upgrading, do not disconnect the power to the dash camera. Cheers!

It does not auto transfer to cloud AFAIK. You need to download/transfer it. As for installation, it's very simple: just affix it anywhere on your windshield and plug into the 12v socket (cigarette lighter). If you want to hardwire it to the car battery, then I'd recommend you get a shop to do that for you. When the car is, the camera power off as well (meaning no recording) but the g sensor (if activated) will be on standby. If something hits the car, it will trigger the g-sensor and turn the camera on to begin recording. If you want it to record while your car is off, you need to have it hardwired to your car battery which can also be done if you know how to do it yourself or easily get it done at any car shop that services dash cams.

the actual video files are individual separate files. I think you are asking if you can download a single video that shows all 4 videos in one? That won't be possible. You can only view all 4 videos in split screen mode on the dash cam while driving.

It records endlessly as much as the memory size you have. The 1, 2, or 3 minutes for each video is important. Think about it. Let me explain. If you record 5 min or 10 min long videos per file, the file sizes would be so large that to find the file and transfer it when you only needed a 2 or 5 second segment in the video is going to give you headaches. Having the video files short like 1 min each or 3 min each allows you to keep file sizes small and easier to find incidents and extract it without having to transfer an entire 10 min clip for a 5 second incident. Also, when loop recording, 3 min or less is good so it won't accidentally record over your entire videos. It will only record over each 3 min video. But if you recorded an entire video clip for 10 min long, that means as soon as it records over the first 1 second of the file, the entire 9min 59 second file is a goner. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Better to record short files. Cheers!

Good point. Yes, I would say the ability to read LPs is moderate. It's not your high end 4K quality that would cost $300 or more for those dash cams. In this price range of around $100-$200, you'll be getting moderate quality to read LPs. Good enough but depends on how high your expectations are.

it will depend on the size of your memory card. You can choose to loop record which means it will record over the oldest video once the memory card is full. The bigger the memory card the longer it can hold your videos (maybe 4-5 days or up to 7-10 days depending again on how much you drive and size of memory card).

Good point. I noticed that as well. I believe it may have had something to do with infrared during the day time. In certain shadows, the color seems to come back but in bright sun light I noticed it looked b/w as well.

No battery due to the dangers of overheating etc. so it uses the better technology which is called a SuperCapacitor. These things can endure extreme temperatures without failure and allows for a little bit of power usage if the main car battery is dead. Dash cams use the car battery power for operation.

Like all dash cameras, if you don't hardwire it directly to the car battery, then you won't have a constant power source to run it while parked. If you only use the 12V socket, when your car is parked and turned off, the camera will shut off, but activate if it detects an impact. You can purchase the Pruveeo ACC hardwire kit with low-voltage protection feature.

Those side cameras just look terrible. I guess it's better than nothing if you want to use them to capture your side windows, or maybe leave one capturing the interior, but the color is really washed out.

yes they are infrared activated so during the day they might be activated infrared so the footage will be discolored compared to the non infrared lens.

Yes, depending on what you consider "longer distance". If you're having a hard time making out a license plate number, you can always try to crop/zoom in in post editing software.

for what purpose? It only needs to draw power from the car so mini usb 5 pin is perfectly fine. You can also use a cheap $1 usb-c adapter if you want usb-c for power.

Did you check to see if your volume is on? If you don't have any audio from the video files when viewed on the PC, it could mean either you setting set to "mute" so please check for that. Last possibility is the unit could be defective if no audio is being captured. You can contact them via their support contact from the user manual.
