They should continue with start-stop but maintain it better to function smoothly.

I mean I did hear the rattling and booming but apart from that sound like a normal adl e200 engine
@ryannevery63887 жыл бұрын
the way they've geared these is just way too harsh for the engine to possibly cope, a nice gradual climb through the revs would prolong the life of it but kudos to whichever jackass thought that coupling a nice revvy engine to a craptastic gearbox like that needs shooting, couple that to the stupid stop/start tech and buses like this won't last more than a year or two.
@Transport-Coolfunr5 жыл бұрын
its an Voith I do believe. Otherwise ZF's are better because the engine can actually cope with it's gear changing peak points
@BusesinLondon3455 жыл бұрын
Coolfunr the ZF variants have manual gear selectors so it’s less harsh.
@domestosbleach84683 жыл бұрын
voith gearboxes are crap, they over rev the engine to fuck and then are always harsh on gear changes. zf's are the best gearboxes on the market period as they are smooth, smart with their gear changes and can actuall help a bus along not just strangle the engine to 2500rpm to get 3mph more

This happened in the 130 one time. The description is so true.

I rode this bus on the 130 as it transferred to Beddington with 8220 (YX67VDY) and still sounds the same 7 years later lol. Didn’t break down this time around though thankfully

4:58 Oh no now the engine has cut out already and now the bus is going nowhere and now the lights have flicked off
@BusesinLondon3456 жыл бұрын
This is common for all E200 MMCs with stop start technology. If drivers start the engine too early after it turns itself off as demonstrated in this video the engine will malfunction and eventually break down, also demonstrated in this video.

BTW one time I was on the 380 and at pound Park Road right on the hill the bus just broke down for about 10 minutes and another incident happened in 2017 when I was on a single door e200 dart slf and right outside Lewisham tests the lights just switched off and the bus stopped then the bus driver said the bus was resistalaiting I think that's what he said then after three mini the bus was back on the road stage coach and abellio really need to fix their ADLs!

It's buses with stop start technology. these types of buses are meant to shut itself off after a while but it's when the driver starts it up to early or something that causes the engine to bugger up.

Tbh cos the tech is very new its not gonna be the greatest on the engine cos i see it like turning an old incandessant lightbulb on and off constantly its not gonna do it any good but i know why its being done even if i personally think the effects are that minimal to warrent more engine wear cos companies wanna save on fuel and local govs are adiment it improves emissions (even tho both have very minimal difference)

William Baker I agree with you, they never should have got rid, especially when they sounded awesome, were more comfortable and drove a lot better than these monstrosities, I do however still think that if they had converted and kept the old Olympians and the mid engined B10M's the roads would have been alive with the sound of roaring Volvos, wouldn't you agree?
@johnb89566 жыл бұрын
Ryan Nevery absolutely, I think it’s mostly to do with efficiency now a few extra miles per tank is more important than anything else nowadays.
@ryannevery63886 жыл бұрын
William Baker who wants extra miles from the tank when you could hear the roar from a Cummins L10? Most old olympians that are still serviceable are used primarily as school buses now but put them back in service and they'll outlast this depicted garbage!

Ryan Nevery the bus companies apparently, now you gat to listen to the atrocious whine of a broken Wrightbus Streetlite, and yes the Olympians and Volvo’s will

This thing sounds like a cheap and nasty heap of crap when it is working. I dunno about these buses but most cars have a S/S override button or switch which would prevent this nonsense.
