The kick was far from lucky, the footage of Leon drilling that exact move is out there, the footage of his trainers talking about that exact move just before the fight is out there. The only surprise was that is took Leon five rounds to even attempt it, and the reasons for that is also in the public domain, in that even though these guys are professionals, and i mean many on the card, non realised that you cant acclimatise in two weeks or less, it takes at least four weeks to adapt to altitude or extremes of humidity.
@saj66842 жыл бұрын
Whats more special is the point you missed. The reason he didnt land it sooner was less the altitude, its was strategic he was setting the trap, showing him the leg kick and conditioning him to slip into that direction not expecting the head kick, because he kept throwing the inside leg kick
@superflyguy44882 жыл бұрын
@@saj6684 He wasn't setting a trap, his energy levels were draining fast, no fighter prolongs a fight they are struggling in, if he could have got the RNC in the 1st he would have taken it. He threw the kick because the opportunity appeared, if it had appeared in the first 10 seconds of R1 he would have thrown it then.
@pepparmostheelder2 жыл бұрын
@@superflyguy4488 Leon himself however have stated after the fight that he wanted to get more strikes and kicks in before that but he just couldnt pull the trigger. He had a real off day and failed to throw when he actually wanted to. So the reason why we didnt see more attempts wasnt just cause there was to opportunity to try something like that before R5 but he just failed to pull the trigger when a widow for solid offense showed itself.
@GeraldGruenigMedia12 жыл бұрын
@@superflyguy4488 so true, I read that guy's comment literally rolling my eyes lol. Yeah people set traps but nobody waits 24 of 25 mins to implement it LOL
@superflyguy44882 жыл бұрын
@@pepparmostheelder he messed up his acclimatisation, I've spent 35 years living at sea level in the UK and working for extended periods at altitude, it takes a minimum of 4 weeks to adapt, a minimum. I found 4 to 6 weeks and after 10 weeks when I got home I felt the benefits for a maximum of 10 days. That was mostly going from by the sea to between 4000 to 8000 feet above sea level, some sometimes to 10000. Extremes of humidity also have a similar effect, very dry or very moist air impact the bodies ability to deliver oxygen to the organs and muscles (perfusion).

Considering kamaru's legacy and his win streak befire the KO ,its fair on to give an immediate rematch to him. If khamzat makes a quick work of nate, it's fair for to fight either burns 2 or Colby. Colby v khamzat will be a way bigger fight than usman and khamzat
@karangupta_DE2 жыл бұрын
@@GLOBAL-STRUGGLE think about it, whoever doesn't win the rematch, we might not be able to see him fight Chimaev ( Usman is already 35, if he doesn't win the rematch, he might move up or retire, if Leon doesn't win, then its probably going to take him a minimum of 2 fights to be back in the picture, Leon vs Chimaev would then depend on various circumstances), On the other hand, if UFC makes Usman vs Chimaev, and if Chimaev wins, we have back to back super fights. If Usman wins, then we are set for a trilogy, and Chimaev can build back up.

Here is the thing. I truly believe we have not seen the best of Leon. He may lose the 3rd fight, but it will be close. I was one of the few that felt Leon had a good chance in this fight. I based it off off his performance in their first fight, and it was a solid performance. He did much better than others did in his first fight with usman. If I never saw the first fight and only had this fight to go on without knowing what we know about the altitude;Then,I would say Leon doesn't have a chance in the 3rd fight.His grappling in this fight for most of this fight was not as good as their first fight,and he still took Usman down. That's why I know if Leon is 100%, that 3rd fight will be special.
@alcottdevalte74402 жыл бұрын
I think Edwards gonna get the supreme confidence now that he is the champ just like Usman got it beating Woodley, and when he fought Gunnar Nelson back in London in 2019, he seemed to be calm and managed to handle the pressure of being home very well. He even became more aware of himself and what he was capable of, and then the Masvidal mess happened due to that backstage... Edwards is 31 this week and Usman gonna be 36 next year and that's too old for this division since nobody becomes the champion after 35 below the 185 weight class. Nobody done it in MMA in the weight class of 125,135,145, 155 and 170... The win for Pitbull at 155 in Bellator at the age of 36 was lame considering that his opponent was 52 and an extremely easy opponent.. In addition to that, Usman got knocked out cold, which would minimize his abilities to take punches and punishment in general. Gonna be interesting for sure but age is the biggest factor in these lower weight classes below 185. Even GSP last fought Hendricks at 170 at the age of 32, which again confirmes that the most elite athletes and fighters in that division is between the age of 25-35... Therefore, I got Edwards winning the trilogy.

Guys...Leon won 2 rounds of a 5 round fight. The 2 rounds that had the most danger were rounds 1 and 2...why do ppl keep saying usman was winning 24 minutes...God it's getting old and it's only been a week. What we should be talking about is when they were both 100 percent fresh leon won that round period. When they were both tested for 24 minutes and the fight was on the line...for both...not just Leon ppl....Leon knocked his ass out. Knocking out a guy on a 15 fight streak is not luck. Kamara has been rocked like 10 times in his fights with burns and colby...Burns could of shut his lights out round 1 for Christ's sakes...the chin is what has saved usman. There's itleast 25 nice shots from Leon throughout the fight that could of put others down but usman saw them coming and took em. Another thing.. we should be talking about how long they stood together and what the damage was for each...for me it looks like if Leon can keep it standing he will hurt Kamara and put him away. If Kamara can hump him for the fight then yes he will win. I got edwards all day. Usman will not take risks and he will have to fight different and will most likely shoot for takedowns in panic many times...usman thinks he wants round 2 but as the fight gets closer and closer and then door closes behind him he will REMEMBER what happened last time and what's on the line again and fear will take over . Losing once after a long streak is easy...u can say it was a fluke...or I had an injury.. but twice...thats way worse. Thats 10x the pressure that he told dana he was so glad was lifted...those are the reasons I think Leon takes the third fight and why usman is pretty much done...specially usmans chin...

These guys are gossiping forever. When do they get to the Leon Edwards part

I just can’t wait to see Covington back. I was very happy when Dana White said they’re working on a fight for him and he’s ready to go. Covington versus Leon in the UK would be so much bigger than Leon versus Usman but obviously Usman‘s getting the shot

Covington will get Chimaev if he beats Nate

Colby will never again fight for a title. He can beat the top guys.

colby isnt getting that fight next. he should have signed up burns, chimaev or even belal. but he continues to sit out ignoring call outs
@drewjenn98192 жыл бұрын
@Ed Balls there's still Burns, Belal and Brady and Shavkat to navigate through. Colby will never again fight for a title. He can't beat any of those guys.

Stakes wise it was the best kick, round 5 title fight your losing if it goes to decision, but it doesn't come close to Uriah halls for just "best" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJuWqX9vr9SMZ68

Colby overrated. Bring him back on the show when he has a win over someone who isn't near 40 and on a losing streak...
