Thank you for this info! Very useful And the highlight of this video was you mentioning x-96 (listened since they began in mid 90s when. I was in jr.high) but I actually yelled out "hell ya!" Been missing X-96, SLC and even Washington. So thank you for making a music buff day on many many levels!

WOW! Nice to hear I made your day. I moved back to SLC last year and found that X96 has sure changed, I found cousin Brad and the crew on 103.1 The Wave, they are playing some killer tunes. This video is a bit dated and you may want to check out this one. Bluetooth has come a long way. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnLNi4OYe52KaJY Thanks for the kind words... Cheers my friend.

One of my first installations I mounted the BT module in the Stereo. Worked well but I had poor range. I took the module out and mounted it on top of my receiver.. Much better range (just a few feet, but no more cutting out when I move from room to room) Thanks for your comment....BB23

I would not use BT for what you want to do. IMO, I would take audio from your tv, and plug into an AUX or Tape input to your receiver. You will need a 3.5nn to RCA cord to do this. Plug the mini 3.5 jack to your tv's audio output and plug the male RCA's into a AUX or Tape in. Doing it this way will give you MUCH better audio..... I did something almost identical to this with my antique (1967) Magnavox console stereo. However, my setup adds a stage to address an irritating problem I have with many portable devices - a noticeably weaker audio signal when compared to other audio sources, like a tape deck, CD player, tuner, or record player. To deal with this, I've added a TEC TC780-LC line level booster between the Bluetooth module and the AUX (tape-in) connections of the stereo. Both the Bluetooth receiver and thd line booster are powered from a switched AC outlet I wired in. Not the most elegant solution, but both the BT receiver and the line booster are installed on the back panel of the stereo, hidden from view but easily accessible. There are no permanent modifications; the external hardware can be removed and the internal modifications can be reversed easily, all in less than an hour.

I jus pulled out my ‘71 Sansui G-5700 receiver that I would love to make bluetooth. After a lil cleaning and lubing it Still sounds like new! I will employ your technique asap and report! I recently bought a gadget to make my HD TV bluetooth. It actually works two bluetooth headphones simultaneously. And, the sound is crisp, but it’s not in stereo! Hopefully your technique will accomplish that for my classic receiver as well as for my 10+ yrs Sony STR-DE197.

Good video. I am glad JL came out with their own. I love JL. I have a 67 Impala and I am totally revamping the Audio system. I am running 4 amps (about a dozen speakers) NO HEAD UNIT. I am custom fab'ing a tablet into the dash and will Bluetooth all the audio from the tablet to the amps. I don't listen to FM. Like you, I am a talk radio nut. I only listen to one talk radio. The Ticket in Dallas. You should check it out. I hate radio stations on FM. No one should listen the them anymore unless you listen to talk radio. The Ticket had their own app so I will just listen to them on their app (SportDay Talk w/1310TheTIcket < you should check them out). I personally use KZbin Music and whatever that doesn't have, Amazon prime music does. The tablet will act as a streaming music/talk radio apps, video if I want to, AND since I will be using a Samsung tablet, it will have bad ass google maps app instead of crappy head unit GPS. Not to mention tablet screens are so much bigger, clearer, smoother touch screen, and simpler to wire up than a head unit. Head unit might have about a dozens wires where as a tablet is literally a power wire that will always be plugged in. the audio will be Bluetooth so no need to jack with that. Thanks for this simple video. Thumbs up!

I gave up on surround a long time ago. Not worth all the hardware and operational complexity. We use a old Technics receiver that is about 100 watts RMS per side (really low THD) in our 24'x24' sun room and it literally shakes the place with just two small Polk shelf speakers and a sub woofer in the center. So simple that even the wife can run it, LOL! We run the flatscreen, turntable, Blueray, and Xbox through it is stereo. Now, thanks to this vid, I can also add Bluetooth. LOVE IT.

Anything pre 80's is best to go for and cheap as chips. Im using a Jvc model 60w rms both sides from 1978 with '76 Tannoys (Eaton) blows everything that ive ever tried away...i will stick with the old stuff til im gone. The quality of sound from these old units is just amazing to hear the difference...dont be put off by the low end watts...they still kick ass compaired to the shite they throw out at us nowadays...Happy New Year guys..from London Uk

Usually I will put the blue tooth leads on cd/dvd/or anything with a high-end processing. Phono and tape just don't seem to sound that good especially when you have audio file grade equipment and you can hear the difference.

Very nice, I spend a lot of time on Tunein Talk Radio too, wish there was a way to shoot the audio across the street, we're working on my Grandma's house, be nice to have something to listen to. I found this blue tooth speaker called Air Raid at a thrift store, not sure if it works, but I guess it will be good around the house. Iv'e hard wired the whole house & garage with speaker, phone, cable & internet. Most of the heavy lifting is done. But that 100' distance acroos the street is cramping my style. lol I'm behind the times, I'm in the Todd Rundgren & Ted Nugent camp of not having a smart phone, might change that per this video Thanks, very informative.

While Im not going to guarantee this will go across the street, you may want to take a look at this little device... kzbin.info/www/bejne/raWWkKObmbifqKM This Transmitter has worked well for me, and I get outstanding range. Great comment and viva la Uncle Ted...... BB23

All i did was got a normal cheap $3 mini bluetooth receiver with a headphone jack where plugged in a 3.5mm audio cable, the 1 with the 2 white and red rca cables on the other end in which i plugged into the Aux input on my Amp. And so i find my way much easier to do and connect. But ur way is so much more convenient tho i guess, as u wont have to keep on turning the bluetooth receiver on and off all the time when using as it's power is plugged directly to ur amp.

Oh. Unless ur amp has a usb socket then the bluetooth receiver will also turn on and off along with the amp. If so then i'd get a bluetooth receiver and do it my way cause my way cheaper and only 5bucks with receiver and a 3.5mm audio and rca plug. The JL Audio component is bloody $100 man. What a rip off.

@@philipsmi-lenguyen8155 My amp has 220V socket wich turns on/off same as amp goes stand by. I connect Bluetooth receiver to it. But extension cord with switch would do same.
