Me too. Seems to be some misinformation thought. Some say it’s double din chassis and some single din. I wish it was double din short chassis that would work best for me but if it’s single din chassis that will work as well Then some say it Apple CarPlay wireless but not android I wish I could find definitive answers

Pretty cool that they have the steering wheel option, left or right, as many of us have started to import JDM cars that used to be banned for 25 years. Wish the bezels were smaller, with it was 1080p at a minimum. OLED is king IMHO. Cheers 🍻

I have a old eclipse dvd player still thatbI had in my mustang. I feel bad that I am not using it. I just feel it is useless since the gps is a dvd, and I can not connect my phone to it. Just shows that when I buy this, I will need to replace it in 10 years.

Wow! Big price jump between the 409 and 509! The only real complaint I have with my 409 is that I would like it to dim a bit more for night driving.. I'd like to see the dim comparison between the two..And yes, I wish I had wireless andriod auto..lol.. Pro Tip.. I have a Roku plugged into my HDMI..lol

They basically brought it up to kenwood dmx1057xr standards with lower voltage preouts 4 not 5 and single din, I do like the interface more on alpine much more polished they still should have done 5v pre outs. @Breakers Stereo & Performance Excellent review, Josh! Thank you! Just a few thoughts. One thing that I was disappointed to see in the new Alpine's Independent Left & Right PEQ was that the specific frequencies are only selectable in the typical 1/3rd Octave increments instead of at any desired frequency, as well as the width or "Q" only being selectable between "Narrow/Medium/Wide" instead of a specific value anywhere in between. :( While it has less PEQ bands overall (8 instead of 13), the Sony XAV-9500ES that you also reviewed DOES allow you to adjust the specific Frequency and "Q" of each PEQ band, which allows for much more precise EQ adjustments and better L/R frequency response overall. And FINALLY, I do appreciate the smaller Bezels on these new Alpine units, though we'd still like them to be even smaller so as to minimize the overall size of the display. This can mean the difference between the unit covering important OEM dash-mounted switches, controls, and air vents, or not! Or interfering with the operation of the MT or AT shift levers on some vehicles. I also appreciate the iDataLink Maestro compatibility and updated HD screens. Though as you said, even our much smaller smartphone screens have higher resolutions than these large car stereo displays! And the optional RUX-H01 Bluetooth remote Volume & Subwoofer Level Knob is an awesome feature as well! Thanks again for the excellent review!

I've had it for 2 days and my current complaints. 1. The install direction were terrible. The hinge came at an extreme angle. This video helped me a bit, but my angle out of the box was much more extreme. The instructions tell you to adjust height first, then install then pivot. This is impossible. You need to attach, then fix the hinge pitch and then adjust the height. It took my way too long to get the display mounted as I had everything the dash and had to disassemble and mess with it until I figured out how to attach with the heigh reset before I could pivot. now lacking features 2. There should be native Alexa integration. CarPlay lacks amazon music, and Alex voice is more helpful for most smart homes integrations. 3. There needs to be a way to disable SiriusXM button, its grayed out and disabled, but if you finger even swipes over it, and error is thrown and it disabled the input for 3 seconds. It should not even show if it's disabled. 4. Alpine needs a weather app like Kenwood. Thats a big feature missing in CarPlay and offered by stock vehicle systems. 5. The bluetooth audio knob should auto connection on reboot.

Hi! I just got mine put in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler, the original radio that I had in it was a heavy duty unit. I like this one because it’s wireless and has updated features. I drive 45 mins to get home the screen was really hot is that normal will it brake down if too hot. It looks like a floating IPad I wish this size could be mounted lower. Still learning to use it.

So, these units both come with the microphones, for hands free phone use. Do you have to use these? Im looking at a 2015 Chevy Malibu, and it has the chevrolet mylink screen, it has hands free phone also, so it has its own factory microphone. I know these factory microphones work perfectly fine, so, again, do I need to use the one that comes with the unit or, can I stay with my factory mic?

I'm in the same situation with an MR2. Pioneer makes a 7" Double Din with a detachable face. Wireless Android Auto/Carplay and it has a CD player. They also have one with its own GPS S/W for when you drive into one bar country. The user interface is much nicer - Pioneer seems to have discovered color, shapes, and transparency, while everyone else seems to be suck in1985 with only 16 color VGA. The Pioneer is perfect, but unfortunately it's out of stock, and I'm afraid Pioneer is going to go with the oversized screen units just waiting to be stolen. and no Double Din models in the future.

I have the ilx f511. Im running 2 amps a monoblock for bass and a 4 channel. Do I need a hi res amp to get hi res through the amp I use tidal and it says it’s playing but I’m not sure I’m actually playing hi res since I’m using a cheap d4s amp. Should I upgrade my amp or it doesn’t matter?

If you have the stock JBL system, the Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX would likely be your best bet. If not (and/or you're willing to spend a bit more), other options you would then consider are: 1. Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX 2. Sony XAV-9500ES 3. Alpine Halo9 iLX-F509 (in this video) (I've ordered these in which way I'd personally choose) Whether or not you have the JBL system will make fitment differences, so after you know that, you can go from there with your selection based on cost, features, and aesthetics.

So What I’m seeing is behind the stereo that dash is pretty shallow so you’re gonna have to go with something that is not very deep. You can do an alpine ILX -w650 or the Ilx- W407. Both are 7” screens. If you wanted something a little bit larger you can always go over with the pioneer DMH-C 5500 NEX. This is an 8” module radio that allows you to mount the body away from the screen. You will need the metra Kit model number 108-TO6HG. We have all these radios in stock. If you call the guys down at the shop they can help you out if you have any questions. 805-486-8307. BTW Love the profile pic we went to chitzen itza a few years back. Amazing!

I found specifications and dimensions for the display and also the chassis in the online owners manual. Easily downloadable as a pdf. Most of the specs are on the last few pages of the manual. Using cardboard cut to the size of the display helped me make a decision between display sizes that would best fit an older model Lexus. Hoping this is helpful.

If you are happy with the interface of the RAV4, then just upgrade the amp. That is a new car and know that if and when you sell the car, no one is going to care enough to pay extra for the different screen.

Biggest thing was call quality, microphone sounded like a mess to the person on the other side. And I also had a weird bug that they refused to fully acknowledge where Google Maps looked fine running in android, but once I plugged my phone in the colors were washed out in Carplay.
