I have a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn. I found that when trying to hook the unit up, my back up camera and steering wheel controls no longer work. We were able to finally find another cable after searching for over a month that worked (another $145) but the steering wheel controls still do not work. Any idea how to get those to work?

Boss tends to have a problem of the bluetooth not always connecting across all their models. When this happens you have to turn the car off and turn it back on, which when ur doing a few times during the week can be quite a nuisance

Well it be 50 Watts RMS.. But that’s definitely going to be hard to find. Just try to get the lowest powered sub and make sure it’s an important bucks. Hope that helps and thanks for the common glad you’re enjoying the videos

For iPod just the apple hdmi to lighting cable For android make sure you get the correct hdmi to usb-c for your phone. If you search hdmi to usb-c for which ever phonr you have on Amazon. Hope that helps

I have the same unit and it has issues with the displaying being washed out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Others have the same issue with the same family of Sony headunits. It can’t be adjusted either and ZERO support from Sony.

I’d trade all those miscellaneous features for wireless CarPlay. Many car manufacturers are offering it in their latest models and once you get used to not having to take your phone out of your pocket (just like key fobs on newer cars) it’s hard to go back to wired.

@@spsanders69 I actually bought two Pioneer DMH-W4660, which have wireless for right at $500, but of course they were open box from BB. What I'm say is the manufacturers could eliminate some of the non desirable options (of course in my opinion) and focus on stuff like wireless. For example, most makers have stopped offering built in navigation because no one uses it anymore - they used AA or CP. I'd gladly swap HDMI ability for wireless and drop the price.

I was just about to pay that for a JVC model, KW-M865BW, but last second found it had a resistive screen and I am set on a capacitive screen especially with Car Play, albeit wired. Funny, I am liking the idea of the HDMI input. I have a dual cable mount already ordered for this Sony I ordered, that will have a USB and the HDMI input in a single outlet on my console. Then my phone will go in my center console on the primary USB connection for the wired CarPlay / charging. Also, this Sony in the video has one of the best FM Sensitivities that I have seen. Most are closer to 10 and some are as high as 15.

@@spsanders69 Lol, I did buy mine over two years ago so yes, it's probably a lot higher now. I have the dual "nickel" mount in the dash with both USB and HDMI but with wireless, I never use either. I just use a back seat USB with the wire hidden between the seats to charge it when necessary.

Shame the screen is not hinged to flip up so that empty lower DIN space and be accessed and used for storage. It's now just dead space. My truck has a storage bin to fill that space that is very convenient for storing a wireless remote and other small stuff.

Lol. Yeah go into your settings on the iPhone and turn off notifications for text messaging. It’s a pain but you would have to turn it on and off each time you get in the car… unless someone else knows how to do and can share..???

for your messages to be there you need to plug your phone to the unit. so if you're not in your car, there wouldn't be any carplay available.

@@BreakersStereo i agree with you on the chip part, as a user of the AX5000, i can tell you i am done with wired AA, bad cable? you will have a bad time. hit a pothole, disconnects! leave the device in the car, it hands of badly and lets your device sing itself to death. i am done with wired AA time to move foward. will wait he chip shortage out, will just get speakers first insted.
