Hey lily! I'm afghan, so I would definitely recommend trying Mantu which are similar to dumplings and have minced meat inside and covered with a yogurt sauce on top, topped with some coriander. Also try the famous rice dish - Kabuli Palau which contains a topping of carrots, raisins and pistachio nuts. I know it sounds crazy but don't knock it till you tried it! And of course afghan green tea is the best! Hope that helps.

Probably one of the coolest resolution ever! If you try persian food you should go alounak in Bayswater - SO nice! And Needos in WhiteChapel for Pakistani food...! I really want to try Ethiopian food now, theres quite a few resturants around Wood Green area OMG I'm so hungry now lol xx

Hi Lily! loved the vlog...For Afghan food...Ariana in Paddington around Bourne Terrace is lovely! Or Zaytoon in Cricklewood (although the chairs aren't too comfy but the food is yummy!)...Or Behest (however its more Iranian but their food is all the same....the decor there is lovely!)....enjoy!

Lily, I love your idea/resolution to try a new cuisine every month over a catch up with friends. I totally want to copy you. I've been to an African restuarant before and had Ethiopian and had those sour pancakes - agree with Rich that it tastes nice when mixed in with the other flavours. My favourite Ethiopian restaurant in Melbourne is called Lalibela too! I've recently discovered Afghan too - if you see lamb dumplings on the menu you must have them! My favourite cuisine at the moment is Korean. What an awesome resolution!

Not sure if you've already tried Afghan cuisine, but if you haven't I recommend the meat dumplings covered in yogurt and sauce, its called Mantu or the veggie one which is called Ashak. Another popular dish is Kabuli Palowe ( originated in Kabul). I'm not from UK but I'm Afghan lol so hope you enjoy the food! :)

Kabul Kebab in Hendon is amazing for Afghani food. The Afghani pilou is soooo good, comes with a huge lamb shank and lots of extras. £10! Yum.

I'm afghan and I hope you'll like our food 😊 make sure you try "qabeli" it's the typical afghan dish. Rice with meat, carrots and raisins - I know it sounds weird but it tastes sooooo good! "Mantu" is my personal favourite! Steamed pockets of pastry filled with meat and topped of with an awesome sauce 😁 I just hope that the restaurant is good 😊
