BREAKFAST WITH ELEPHANTS IN CHIANG MAI ELEPHANT SANCTUARY THAILAND 2022 (Episode 12)

A wake up call and breakfast with elephants here in Thailand. This is one of the most unique travel experiences we have ever had as a family. Chai Lai orchard is beautiful sanctuary just outside of Chiang Mai in North Thailand. What started out as looking for a fun family experience turned into the most meaningful and ethical animal encounter we have ever had as a family.
Many people know about Giraffe Manor, but this is still a bit of a hidden gem. Excited to share it with you.
They are a very special non-profit who care for their elephants and local community. We have so much more to tell you about them, this experience is more special than we can convey, but there also quite a few things you need to know if you are planning to visit.

@@TheBackpackingFamily Real parents would not allow their children to be this close! Like any wild animal, they can attack ay anytime. People have been injured or even killed by elephants. This not a Sanctuary! A creditable Sanctuary lets them just be elephants. A lot of places say 'Sanctuary" just to lure tourists in. This is a real Sanctuary kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3_dqpqkgLx6lck No riding, no tricks, no bathing. Do you really believe the elephants are rounded up every day so tourists can bathe with them all day? Leaves nothing left for them to do other things they were born to do

Elephants at the sanctuary are cute and very friendly but don’t underestimated them! They’re all trained to be so sweet and cute by the mahouts who take care of them. Whenever you have some fruit in your hand and ready to feed an elephant, when he reaches his trunk to get food in your hand, PLEASE give it to him! Do not pull it back because the elephant can be very upset thinking that you don’t want to give him food in your hand!

Wondering if elephants aren’t forced/trained to take part in these experiences. Like kissing or coming for breakfast ? These are not natural elephant behaviors

Walking around looking for breakfast is totally natural behaviour for breakfast, that's what makes it so clever- and elephants are very playful. We've had A LOT of animal encounters over there years and these are very well and lovingly kept
