Just realized The Loner tv series theme from 1964 is the seed of Breakheart Pass, my all time favorite. Jerry's music was the best, distinctive and classy.

I just watched The Loner tv series from 1964 and realized the theme is so similar.Jerry was unsurpassed and Breakheart Pass is my favorite.

I remember being pleasantly surprised seeing this movie on cable because it changed my perception of Bronson. I was familiar with his 80's revenge flicks where he was gun-toting angel of death type patrolling the city streets . But in this film and others like White Buffalo he was different. He was a bit more nuanced like. Part of what made this film in particular for me was Jerry Goldsmith's score. The main theme is so memorable and evokes wild west adventure (especially the feel of the the train - the main location of this movie). To my ear, it sounded like either there was a budgetary limit on how big an orchestra Goldsmith could have or maybe he parred it down to what he would absolutely need. Either way he did so much with what he had and sounds so good.

Like the movie The Blue Max Goldsmith's score surrounds the listener and makes you feel like your flying and his music for Breakheart Pass allows you to imagine the train and the adventures it leads to just through the soundtrack. Great western and a magnificent score.

Hi Fred. Ich wünsche dir ein angenehmes Wochenende. Jedesmal wenn ich auf deinem Kanal bin entdecke ich etwas neues. ^_^ Diesen Film kenne ich nur in der deutschen Fernsehausstrahlung. Ich habe ihn damals mit meinem Vater gesehen. Das muß bald über 35 Jahre her sein. Und der Film wurde wahrscheinlich geschnitten um ihn vor 23.00 Uhr ausstrahlen zu können. Denn wie das Fort von den Outlaws im Film eingenommen wird, wurde in der Fernsehausstrahlung nicht direkt gezeigt, wenn ich mich nicht irre. Aber immerhin, Charles Bronson und seine damalige Frau Jill Ireland zusammen in einem Film. ^_^ Nevada Paß war glaube ich der deutsche Titel bei der Fernsehausstrahlung. Ein sehr guter Film nach meiner Einschätzung. Und hier hört man auch schon wie Jerry Goldsmith amscheinend schon an Star Trek gearbeitet hat, zumindest in ganz kleinen Teilen. ^_^ Würdest du dich auch trauen Musik von schlechteren Filme hochzuladen wie zum Beispiel Megaforce ? Was??? Der Film ist ein perfekter "Edge of your seat" Western mit guten Figuren und Spannung. Mir hats auch ohne Jerry gefallen
