Stroud: To be clear, the Liam Coen contacted head coach Todd Bowles around 5 p. m. Thursday. He said he had been with one of his kids, who had taken ill, at a doctors office. He mentioned the Jaguars situation only briefly, saying he wanted to look back into it.
Russini: The Tampa Bay Bucs have been operating as if Coen was returning as the offensive coordinator after offering him a hefty deal.
The contract was never signed and the Bucs were not informed he spent the day in Jacksonville meeting to become to next head coach, per source.
Ethan Waugh, who was with the 49ers for nearly two decades and is now Jacksonville's interim GM, may have massively benefited his former team (think Robert Saleh) by successfully restarting talks with Liam Coen
