Nice! These were the early MAPNET versions of the 4251 series from 1991 right before they were discontinued but these were either for the 2120 or for the 4100 Classic or 4100 Legacy.

Late 80s, actually. Simplex began making the "newer" 2099 pulls in 1991.
@ZakWolf4 жыл бұрын
Those older Simplex break-glass pulls had a neat design, with the way the frame flips down after the glass is broken, making it easier to access the lever without worry of broken glass shards. My first elementary school had the conventional 4251-30 version, installed with the building's original Simplex 4208 fire alarm system in 1974. I've also seen several of those older-style break-glass pulls with the much newer Simplex glass panes that just read "BREAK GLASS", too.

Why do fire doors close? Wouldn't it make it harder to evacuate from a fire?
@mrnorthwestohiodude77583 жыл бұрын
That’s what fire doors are designed to do. Most modern fire doors close because they are designed to contain fire for a set time, anywhere from as low as 30 minutes to up to an hour and a half. Most fire doors are designed to open outward in the direction of people evacuating.

@carterkoning12143 жыл бұрын
I know it’s conventional
@ZakWolf3 жыл бұрын
@@carterkoning1214 Because it's an early addressable Simplex pull station from the late 1980s or very early 1990s. Simplex switched to the newer logo on those pulls in 1991.
@FireAlarmsandSuch3 жыл бұрын
This pull station is the same base as the 4251-30, but has a different backplate design to accommodate the MAPNETII card on the back. MAPNETII was the predecessor to Simplex’s IDNET communications line.

The simplex truealert fire alarm is not even loud
@ShockValue5005 жыл бұрын
Well that’s because the alarms sounding are not Truealerts, they are Gentex Commander 2s or 3s, which are still loud but not as loud as the Truealert.
