Having plastic instead of glass is pretty cool imo. Because it seems like it breaks more "orderly" rather than glass, which usually breaks into a million pieces and some fragments of glass can be large, and others can be extremely small and "unseeable" (I've had the misfortune myself of being cut by those pieces bcuz of how small they are 🙁. so Rule of Thumb is: if you DO have a legitimate glass break pull, remember to either vacuum really well or have something to catch nearby 😉). Plastic however can be pretty sharp as well, so that does mean you still have to be careful with that too lol Great video!

I like how it seems to be more safe but you could say glass is more quicker and easier to break, plus cheap plastic can melt / deform in heat. I like glass more, not only since it is an old practice, but because of how dramatic it makes things, it sets the mood for me lol.

I found one of these used on a Washington ferry boat I work on in my summertime. It holds the keys to the lifejacket locker room. if there is an emergency, people can get into the lifejacket locker room and get the lifejackets, but it keeps unauthorized personal without another key from tapering/entering the lifejacket locker room.

Why can’t they use those for key activated stations. Like have the key in the break glass case available near key stations for systems with all key activated stations
@SERSafety4 жыл бұрын
Generally, key activated systems are used in places where they don't want the public to be activating the system, such as jails. With key activated systems, I could see one of these being placed in a private location however, just in case one of the employees forgets to carry their keys.
