Anna Gunn's reaction on Brian Cranston is actually not "overreacted", but 100% true, cause she wasn't aware, that he decided to shave his hair for real. It was considered, that he would only wear a kind of "bald wig". And btw: I also once shaved my hair completely, after wearing really long hair for more than 15 years. I can only say, you wouldn't believe, what sorts of reactions I earned. Felt like an alien or some sort of strange circus attraction by the looks people gave me ;-)

Goddamn you girls pick up on details so fast. The building from the early scene, the bloody bag. The instant they appear on screen you immediately notice. Instantly deducing what's gonna get Walt cooking again, what's gonna make him confront Tuco. The reference to the mercury he talked about earlier in class. Jesus. Haven't seen such attention to every detail from any other reaction channel I've seen following this show. It's kinda terrifying how you get EVERYTHING XD Me, on the other hand...I'm gonna have to start zooming on in the scenes in the middle. Arianna is just too damn gorgeous, I can't focus on the scenes at all cause eyes just keep darting off to the side XD

So the first 5 episodes was the stumbling family man trying to commit a crime, but this episode is where he actually breaks bad and *becomes* Heisenberg. Also the arrest of the janitor actually saves Walt. They associate the good chemistry gear with anyone the Janitor may know/sell to - low level nobodies. The legend of Heisenberg begins….
@wozing
@wozing Жыл бұрын
I never really see anybody mention this, but I always thought it was dope (pun intended). He calls himself Heisenberg after the quantum mechanics' Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. You may not know the name, but you've likely heard of the idea. Short answer, in quantum mechanics and states, you either know a particle's position or behaviour, but not both. A little more explanation for those interested: "Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that there is inherent uncertainty in the act of measuring a variable of a particle. Commonly applied to the position and momentum of a particle, the principle states that the more precisely the position is known the more uncertain the momentum is and vice versa. This is contrary to classical Newtonian physics which holds all variables of particles to be measurable to an arbitrary uncertainty given good enough equipment. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is a fundamental theory in quantum mechanics that defines why a scientist cannot measure multiple quantum variables simultaneously. Until the dawn of quantum mechanics, it was held as a fact that all variables of an object could be known to exact precision simultaneously for a given moment. Newtonian physics placed no limits on how better procedures and techniques could reduce measurement uncertainty so that it was conceivable that with proper care and accuracy all information could be defined. Heisenberg made the bold proposition that there is a lower limit to this precision making our knowledge of a particle inherently uncertain. More specifically, if one knows the precise momentum of the particle, it is impossible to know the precise position, and vice versa. This relationship also applies to energy and time, in that one cannot measure the precise energy of a system in a finite amount of time." source: chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Physical_and_Theoretical_Chemistry_Textbook_Maps/Supplemental_Modules_(Physical_and_Theoretical_Chemistry)/Quantum_Mechanics/02._Fundamental_Concepts_of_Quantum_Mechanics/Heisenberg's_Uncertainty_Principle

@SlCKNESS_
@SlCKNESS_ Жыл бұрын
Fun fact: those kinds of anecdotes aren't true at all. She was definitely acting, cause that was Skyler reacting to Walt, not the actress reacting to Bryan Cranston. Also, she might not have been told he'd shaved his head in advance or anything like that, but I can guarantee it was in the script what her reaction should be in that scene, when she sees him. If the cameras are rolling actors are acting, it's that simple. Not to mention if you thought about it for more than 5 seconds and you have a very basic understanding of how movies/tv shows are made you'd realize there's no way her reaction was not scripted.

It's interesting that people almost actively hate an extremely pregnant woman just for reacting fairly emotionally to inexpectedly and suddenly seeing her cancer patient husband's newly shaved head for the first time at the breakfast table. People can't always keep it 100% cool with a perfect poker face in these situations, especially if they're pregnant, you know... And because of that, jumping to a conclusion that she didn't experience anything awful ever in her life and don't know how to put aside her feelings for the happiness of other people... Exaggerate much? The irony is that they're "REACTING" with faces similar to Skyler's on that scene, to fictional tv shows/movies about people they don't even personally know... They had similar reactions when Walt had began losing his hair in the shower for the first time... But when HIS PREGNANT WIFE sees something similar, she absolutely needs to act like it's another tuesday with a blank face...

I'm not a Skylar fan. And I know I'm late to these reactions, but to say "you can tell nothing bad has ever happened to Skylar" is super out of pocket. She has (with health insurance that is so bad it won't pay for Walt's cancer treatments) a son with cerebral palsy, a baby on the way, and now has a husband who actively wanted to die and leave her a single, unemployed mom with a handicapped kid and a newborn rather than even consider treatment (even turning down a good paying job with health benefits to pay for free treatment). "Nothing bad has ever happened to her" based on her (pretty standard) reaction to seeing her husband's now shaved head for the first time?

Also, these two saying Skylar is unable to empathize with another person's feelings or positions or care about their bodily autonomy while also not factoring in any of the above when looking at her character is pretty ironic and funny

@@ecotton600 Boy I’m having trouble staying on these reactions, yes Skylar was annoying first couple of seasons but I’m shocked at seeing two women have zero empathy for a “geriatric” pregnant lady with a handicap kid who just found out she might raise them by herself because her husband has incurable cancer. Phew 😮‍💨

Fun, insightful analysis. Amusing predictions. One note: Talking while the video is running. Multiple times you've missed dialog that will be critical later, or asked questions that were just answered while you were discussing. I compulsively want to pause the show for you, or at least rewind it. Frustrating to me. That's just a process issue. Personally, I really enjoy your perspectives. 👍😎

Your ragging on Skyler is somewhat validating. She isn't likeable and the story presents her as antagonistic to Walt. And as you would have seen by now, the main concept of this show is the dramatic character arc of Walt transitioning from loveable protagonist to monstrous villain. We sympathize a little more with Skyler as the story progresses, but she remains fairly unlikeable. I have heard that the writers have said she was written poorly in the first season, and maybe they didn't intend on her being so unlikeable, but it is what it is, and as it stands, the show gives you very few reasons to like her. I've been in and seen so many discussions online where virtually all criticism of Skyler is met with rigid accusations of misogyny; "the only reason people don't like her is because they hate women." As ridiculous as that sounds, It seems to be a fairly common position. But it's just absurd and overly reductive, and undermines her function in the story; to provide friction against Walt's journey. If the audience only dislikes her because they're misogynists, then her character plays no real function at all.

Watched this reaction a second time, don't sell Skyler short, in later episodes you might be surprised at some of her genius ways of thinking.

90% of the reactions I've seen on KZbin start out frustrated with Skyler and loving Walter, then switch to defending Skyler no matter what she does and hating Walter no matter what he does. I'm guessing it was written to make most people feel that way or something.

I mean it's important to be careful, because I've seen plenty of bad criticism of Skyler that's just not based in reality at all and is purely vitriolic and misogynistic, and I've seen fine criticism of Skyler and her character, because she's still flawed.
