This seems to me like the response a "normal" person would have to this scenario. Which is probably what you are, just know, you are talking from that perspective, not the perspective of a person who has had to deal with hardship but a normal person whose biggest lost was probably their grandma when they were younger. I know the writing of this show is meant to convey the effects of a bad decision but I feel that people like you miss the deeper points of breaking bad, like pride, ego and to a certain degree, purpose. All of that gets lost on morons like your who just see victims everywhere. It's like the sixth sense but with emotional psychopaths.

If we think about it, Skyler's story is one of the saddest in the BB/BCS universe, in the last episode she is no longer the Skyler of the first chapter who was more optimistic and tried to look for the best for her family, in the end she lost it everything, his house, his social status and his family was completely damaged by Walt's decisions.

The only consolation is knowing that Skyler has some kind of a future, no matter how much she's suffered. The writing of Skyler's character had always amazed me because of how real it feels. I know that we're set up to dislike her because we're following Walt's story as the 'protagonist' and Sklyer makes it difficult for him to get away with things - but when you actually imagine yourself in her position as a partner to someone who is constantly lying to you, disappearing for days, and bringing you into a world of crime, you see just how real and reasonable most of her actions & reactions are. Watching her fall apart in the final season was pretty rough, it's insane people fail to empathize with her. Was she petty at times? Sure, but her husband was lying to her since the first episode. He was cooking and dealing METH, killing people, all while lying through his teeth. All while she had to deal with her pregnancy (AND childbirth), a son in high school (with a major disability) AND Walt having cancer. The only truly bad thing she ever did was smoke cigs while pregnant. What's even more insane is that she came around and started trying to help Walt, but he was greedy and always wanted more. He got over his head and got family killed, yet people expect her to be supportive? She had every right to leave him, the dude was a ticking time bomb like Mike said.

I have personally done work of this emotional caliber at an acting school with like 10 other people in the class, where we had to “play with our cats” for 3 minutes or so, and then, immediately after, one by one, for 3 minutes, say our final goodbyes to them on their death bed at the vet in front of the entire class. The sheer raw power of that experience will haunt me until the day I die. Every single emotion in that room was real and you could FEEL it. can't imagine what it's like being an actor who really gets into these roles. even after the scene is over you can't stop crying. you put yourself in this character's shoes and you can't help but feel for them because even if it's fake it's still realistic. i'm sure it feels like you're living a part of their life

@@Goner_Requiem Some actor can cry on command. I had a friend who have done theater and he could cry on command. He once put a nice example : You know when you have done something really embarassing? like in public? And when you think about it 2 years later you are still embarasses AF thinking about it. He told me he was doing the same for sadness, reviving sad memory or even imagining horrible situation. That's also why it can take a toll on the actor. Sometimes they have to imagine someone close dying or similar things and convince themself that it's real.

That's the reason why I don't act, even though I love it so much, because there's a professional threshold to actual real greatness that you will only overcome if you truly have the same feelings as the character (meaning you aren't acting anymore, you are being truthful to who you are on that moment), and this can be extremely dangerous depending on the role.

I dislike Skyler for a very simple reason: She made fundamental 180 turns on a whim whenever the plot needed her to, particularly in the early seasons. Going from concerned wife to serving divorce papers to protecting a meth cook using legal loopholes, turning from upstanding citizen and mom to money laundering accomplice who pays a cop's medical bills with drug money, plus the unnecessary drama (dealing with Ted, jumping in the pool etc.)... I could never shake the feeling that she was more of a plot device than a character even after she got more consistent in the last couple of seasons. Props to Anna Gunn though, she sells the character really well.

The last jedi is in a weird place for me. Because its my least favorite Star Wars movie without a doubt. But it's also probably the best written of the sequels. The main issue I have with it is that it doesn't fit well in the universe. Like the chase makes no sense to me. My only thought was why doesn't half of Kylo's fleet just hyperspace jump in front of the resistance and pincer move. The big one was Luke considering taking out Kylo even if he instantly decided not to. It doesn't fit. Especially when watching these movies in order. Going from redeem Vader Luke to kill Ben Luke feels wrong. Even if you say it's been 30 years, we as the audience weren't shown enough to justify the change in Luke. So looking at it as a standalone movie. It's not that bad. But as a star Wars movie in the main series, I can't stand it. Whatever, the sequels are done and they sucked. It was doomed from force awakens. Imagine being given creative control over the beast that is Star Wars. Then going with Empire vs Rebels again just with different names.

i started tearing up watching this video dude i genuinely had no clue actors actually started feeling like their character like genuinely having emotions of distress during distressing scenes . i always thought they could snap out of it when the recording was over . its also so heartwarming how they comforted her afterwards . love u Anna

It's so touching that she started to genuinely bury her face in her hands AFTER the cut 🥺

Skylar is the pinnacle representation of Walt's old life. The writers face us with the crazy dilemma of pitting the audience against her, since she becomes the resistance to the narrative. Walt built a safe, mundane cage of self defeat and loathing and she ultimately was the warden. Many people (especially men) can sympathize with Walt, in relating to his life before the business. An exhaustive list of failures and shattered dreams, are what sells this tragedy. Large in part because it's a self reflection for the many that are Walt but never ended up breaking bad. They cheer him on, as they shake their fist from inside their own little cages.

@@ldorganics In case you still do not understand it basically means men need to take responsibility for once in their existance and go to therapy instead of expecting a woman to fix their entire life and all of their issues, and then turning into bitter hateful losers when that does not happen because women are people too, not free psychologists.

The acting in this is exceptional. The tension of those final episodes, particularly after Hank finds out, are intense. And you forget that as actors they have to switch in and out of that world at the flip of a coin- I can't imagine being able to do that. Props to Rian Johnson for being a fantastic director and allowing Anna Gunn to do an incredible job.

Such an amazing job. It turned out to be such an intense scene and one of they few to make me cry.

Rian is such a legend, from the way he respects his actors, to his eye for the camera, to the way he writes meaningful stories and dialogue and just being an all around good human being. I hoped they would've gotten him for an episode of Better Call Saul but the man is too busy having a grear career of his own.

Yeah, if interviews with him are anything to go by, he seems like just a really sweet guy. Can't wait for Knives Out 2.

Yeah I love Rian Johnson. It was absolutely terrible to see what horrible things people were saying about him because of his Star Wars movie.

@@johnnypottseed I kinda agree. I liked most of the TLJ but HEAVILY hated the rest of the film. I also like some of the choices Rian made with the film, but yeah a lot of them were not good lol. What's ironic is that RoS sucked because it tried to fix TLJ rather than improve upon it, similar to what TLJ did with Force Awakens. RoS should have take the Revenge of the Sith route and improve upon the previous films flaws instead of trying to fix them.

Anna is a brilliant actress. God, it is such a terrible shame that there were so many sickening people out there who harassed her so much.

Goes from hating Skyler, then to liking Hank, then liking Walter, to hating Jesse Pinkman, to feeling bad for Skyler, to feeing bad for Jesse, to hating Walter, to feeling bad for Hank, to hating Walter even more. Shows genius man

I never actually felt what Skyler felt like until I got a partner myself. Seeing the love of your life slowly change for the worse and endangers the life of your family all for pride, that's gotta be one of the worst feelings

I positively adored Breaking Bad. When you see the 'Behind the Scenes' footage, you can appreciate the effort from everyone who works together to produce 40 minutes of final footage for you and I. It might appear silly and overly pedantic and dramatic...but the end result is clearly a stellar product.

Ozymandias is amazing. When I first watched it, I felt the agony and despair of the characters. And I cried at the phone call scene, that was actually the highlight of the episode for me.
