Well the fact that Walt kept trying to lie his way out of the situation and babbling out that he "negotiated" with Hank and that he would "explain later" didn't really help the situation. Skyler obviously didn't believe him as Hank wouldn't have let him go like that. Walt could've told at least half of the truth for once and explain that Hank was assassinated by a gang during his arrest, that he desperately tried to stop them to no avail, and that they need to leave town immediately. It may not have gotten his family on his side but it's better than what happened here.

Television was never, and will never be this good again. This episode of Breaking Bad and the Crawl Space episode is the top of the mountain when it comes to superb writing. I wish television was as good as this today but it's not even close. Soprano's, Breaking Bad, The Wire, LOST, Mad Men, ....the list goes on and on for this time period in Television. Walt didn't intentionally kill Hank it was Todd and his uncle that are responsible for Hank's death, not Walt
@EntrEsprit6 ай бұрын
that's the brilliance of writing, he didn't directly kill Hank, he genuinely wanted to save him, he even cancelled his call to Jack's crew. But after all the lies Walt has been saying the one time he said the truth no one believes him. And whether Walt says truth or not doesn't even matter, because Skyler knows intentionally or unintentionally Hank's death is the long coming consequence caused by Walt's actions
@ThisDude2346 ай бұрын
Walt got Hank killed by biting off more than he could chew. If he never went into this business, Hank would still be alive most likely. So although he tried to save him and he didn't shoot the gun, Hank's death came as an indirect action of Walt's many selfish choices. And he has to come to grips with that as we see in this scene with his family looking at him terrified and heartbroken. As EntrEspirit wrote, this is really good writing.

Ha, isn't that how it always goes, woman pulls out a knife or throws a bunch, and when you don't want to get stabbed or beaten up and they obviously come up short, then the blame is always shifted onto you, true to life indeed. Honestly given that this is Skyler we are talking about here, Walt and both of his children would have been so much better off had he gotten rid of her several seasons ago.

The weak link in this entire show, both shows if you include Better Call Saul, is Walt’s kid. His lines/acting is consistently poor and cringy. “Wait Uncle Hank is dead” said in the most unconvincing way possible. This character is the only thing keeping this show from being first minute to last minute perfection. As is, it’s a great show with fantastic writing and acting except for one.

They cried and complained as he got the White family into deeper shit, shit they never even needed to be in if Walt did not let his pride get in the way and actually cared primarily about saving the family. They cried and complained as he was out cooking felony quantities of methamphetamine, murdering people, and ruining an untold amount of lives, including their very own. They cries and complain as his actions lead to a family member getting directly killed. They have every right to cry and complain if their patriarch is a deceptive, murderous drug baron.
