While Walt poisoning Brock is despicable, it's also worth to note that situation between Gus and Walt reached the boiling point. Walt interfered by letting DEA know through Saul that Hank's in danger. At that point it was all or nothing. Basically live or die. In those situations people may go overboard. Walt saw poisoning Brock as the only chance to get Jesse on his side. And still it was a huge gamble overall, it wasn't certain it will pay off. Anyway, I'm not defending Walt's actions, but it's all complicated and, as I said, people will do crazy stuff to stay alive
@eviereactsАй бұрын
That's the thing, most of Walt's actions can be understandable (not justifiable) when you put yourself in his shoes. That's why I love this show so much and the characters in it!! I can hate what he did while also understanding how he got there, and that's so fun (and challenging lol)

I don't see Walter as a bad guy per se. Anyone given a death sentence and then allowed to roam free must be a little dangerous. Walt's intentions are good. He wants to rescue his family from poverty before he goes. All those drug users and dealers would all still use or sold drugs with or without Walt in the picture. So he really didn't afect their lives at all because they were all junkies. Who's going to weep for the loss of Tuco or Gus. I didn't even see Gus with any children or a wife. I kind of admire the guy for that. He was alone. No one is going to miss him.

Im not saying this because of you in particular because you caught it like 2 seconds later, but it always confuses me how many reactors think their doing one last cook. Its like they have no sense of urgency. Like actively there is an identifiable body of gus at a crime scene The cops identify gus, a major rich businessman dead in an apparent explosion with no explanation leading to the immediate understanding that it was a bomb as no gas leak + it happened in the middle of the room. Then immediately getting passed onto the FBI + homeland security. Which leads to them combing through his other properties in a formal investigation in which this property (the laundry matt) is one of them which includes walt and jessies finger prints + video recording of their activities. Also them getting rid of the evidence can only happen not just today but RIGHT now. There are probably entire police depts dispatched to that location for an EXPLOSION. Which means that to cause an explosion/fire at the laundry the distraction of the explosion is the only thing that lets them get away with this. I get its a lot to type out but I don't see how people don't understand how close the law is to catching them both.
@TrevortonOffroadАй бұрын
Good observation. I think a lot of the problem is that reactors get caught up in what I call "plot predicting" and this channel has been really great because she doesn't do much plot predictions. The "Are they going to do one more cook" is quite a common plot prediction for this episode. I was surprised by how much she was guessing ahead of the plot instead of just watching and letting the story unfold. Evie is usually quiet and reserved in most of her reactions and thats the kind of style I like to watch, but she was a Chatty Cathy in this episode. She was also talking a lot more than usual in this episode and I was bummed out a little when she was talking over dialog(I was afraid she was going to talk over the "I won" line as so many reactors do). But overall, this channel is really really good and she rarely misunderstands the plot lines and she rarely does plot predictions and she rarely talks over important dialog. But perhaps she was talking and predicting too much here and that leads to head-scratching statements like "are they going to do one more cook?". This "is he going to do one more cook?" confusion is often uttered in this episode but its also said by a lot of reactors in a future episode that I won't talk about in case of spoilers, but maybe you know the scene Im referring too. Anyways... you had good comment and I hope my reply made sense, ha.

Lol yup Walt did it but used didn't use the ricin because that would kill the kid for sure he used lily if the vally because it will make him sick enough to make Jesse think it was the ricin and he needed to have Saul steal it off of Jesse so it would be missing so Jesse would believe it could be Gus who poisoned him he needed Jesse on his side to help him kill Gus. So yea even though he knows the amount to give him but it is still risking a kids life to get Jesse back ans save his own families life. At the expense of hurting Jessie
@gerardfonzАй бұрын
Excellent explanation. Walt had no other options and we know he would carefully figure how much food poisoning was needed to make Brock sick. Walt’s does address this in future episode as well. Don’t understand why people hate on him so much. The Jane death got me pissed at him though.
@TheRepublican777Ай бұрын
@gerardfonz well because even though he knew how much to give him anything still could have gone wrong so he did gamble with his life and that is bad enough but the risk was that it was someone Jesse cares about not anyone he cares about the risk of the boy over his family getting killed by Gus was worth it to Walt but would he had risk someone else that he cares about like that? Probably not but he was confident enough of how much to give him even though he didn't know his weight he may not have even known his age so it was a guess on his part so still a dangerous move on his part and would not have even been his choice had Skyler not given away the money he would have just left with new identities. Walt is dangerous to others when him and the lives of those he loves are on the line, but I guess most people would be that way
