Exactly. Everything he does is driven by his own ego
@henriksvensson126 Жыл бұрын
Yes pride is Walters biggest weakness.
@theghettoracle Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but to speak to his ego you have to remember on an even more personal level why Walt has such strong feelings about not getting the props and credit he feels he deserves and why he chooses not to let that happen again. Ever since he broke off the relationship with Gretchen and sold his share of the company 'Gray Matter' he cofounded with Elliot(Gretchen's husband) for $5,000 and the company generated billions without Walter getting anything out of it no recognition not a honorable paycheck or nothing. So yeah, Walt as Heisenberg and being the brains behind producing the best meth in all of Alburquerque New Mexico, he takes very much pride in that.
@jayvee5686 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. A lot of it stems from the beginning of the show when Hank always emasculated Walt. Walt has always had a lot of angst over the fact that he knows that he's smarter than everyone around him, but he's so smart that others really don't appreciate how smart he is. I've known people like that. People who have incredible knowledge in one area, and they're underappreciated. Making money has been Walt's way of finally being able to demonstrate his keen mind in a way that others could appreciate, but not being able to tell everyone is also a source of frustration for him
@anatos1722 Жыл бұрын
nope its his biggest strenght,only cause of pride and not wanting for example taking Elliots money for cancer treatment he started cooking meth and became drug lord,and fked up all those gangster wise guys,so his ego while being his weakness,made him survive all of it,and at the end , when he says to Skylar "i did it for me,i liked it i was good at it,i felt really alive" that sums up the show,so Walt did it in a way for his unlived adulthood , you can even track back his behaviour in flashbacks when him and Skylar were buying the house,and he wanted like biggest house,and was like "lets do it",he made great science company and got fked over,in a way cancer made him relize how he didnt live up ot hhis full potential,but in end scene of show when he dies smiling in Meth lab means it was worth it,he would do it again,and he felt alive and now he can die!.... best show ever probably!@@henriksvensson126

Yeah, Jesse is complex human. He's not exactly a coward, he just has a natural fear of death and pain like anybody else. He may need some chemical courage before he does something reckless or before he goes out to deliberately harm other people (like Tomas' killers). I’ve always thought that Heisenberg was an aspect of Walter’s personality that gets triggered by certain circumstances. In the “I’m the one who knocks” scene, he clearly changed from Walt to Heisenberg when he takes off his sweater. Also, when he was drunk, he couldn’t stand Gale getting credit for what he was doing.
