A very good and very close friend of mine is one of only 10 people who have been diagnosed with a clear cell sarcoma. This song always makes me think of her. She got that excised, was in remission for 4 years. But recently they discovered that cancer had come back in both of her lungs. I don't know what the future holds for her, but her strength is unbelievable and unimaginable. To Andrea, you're just as strong and inspirational!

When it said I will fight for one last breath that is what I believe my dad was doing when he tried to call me the evening of his passing and I was asleep so I didn’t answer the phone. I kick myself every day for not answering that. It wasn’t till I woke up that morning that I was i Bombarded with text messages and voice messages that I realized what had happened and so I put my son on the school bus for school came home that was what I needed to and then went to work. To which I broke down at work and then took the next two days off

Great reaction and great song. I had a spiritual teacher who told me to not look at how bad your situation is, but what are you learning from it. Everything has a lesson for us. That’s what makes us stronger and to make better choices...if that applies to the situation. So when I’m really down I think about the lessons and how I’m getting stronger. ❤️

Yes! This song has always been my way of finding that center in myself, and my way of telling cancer it won't win. I rarely look at the negatives in my life, and to me my cancer has only made me stronger. The fight leaves me humble, and filled with hope. I see it as an example to my kids that you shouldn't fear death, it's inevitable, you should strive to live fully in every moment. Much love to you and I hope you are healthy and well ❤❤❤

An interesting tie to this song Is Ben has been chronically ill, literal physical joint and muscular problems and they've never diagnosed . He thinks its tied to his battles with alcohol in the past. pretty sure it was also linked to his time away from performing.

So it will haunt me for all of my days and I will always wish I answer that call but I can’t do anything about it now so I just have to hope and know that he knows how much I loved him and I think it is. He’s with me here every day and his Zurn and we take some dance tournaments around the living room or the kitchen just being connected with each other in the best way that we can now. It might sound morbid but it’s kind of the way that I can stack kind of still feel connected to him

***This is just how i interpreted the album*** You see, the album "Dear Agony" was a real personal album for Ben (the lead singer). It was the first album Ben wrote sober. He also had Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (partly because of his drinking habits), but wasnt diagnosed with it until after 2015 sometime. But the entire album is about himself going through the mystery illness and all the agony it caused him. How he struggled to deal with it. On the album, he goes back and forth from vowing not to go down without a fight (The song "I will not bow") to wanting to give up and die (in the song: "fade away"). In the song "Give me a sign," he appears to be trying to make a bargain with God himself that god will just communicate with him in some way, he'll change his ways and be a better man. In the song "Into the nothing," he appears to actually be between the living world and either heaven or hell and is waiting for wherever he is supposed to go next, but it seems as if he doesnt really care either way. The last song, "without You," it seems like he has made a decision to live, but only if he can move forward with "you." I'm guessing its his significant other. Or perhaps god.
